Social Content Strategist Jobs in Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area at Plant People

About Us

At Plant People, we’re building one of the fastest-growing modern wellness brands in the country. The company was founded after two friends turned to the healing potential of functional mushrooms and herbs during their recovery from traumatic spinal surgeries. What began as a personal journey back to health became a mission to help more people experience the power of plants in everyday life.

Today, we create delicious, clean, and effective gummies designed to help people sleep deeper, focus better, feel calmer, and live well. We’re proud to be B Corp and Climate Neutral Certified, and our products are carried by leading retailers including Whole Foods Market, Target, Erewhon, REI, Sprouts, JetBlue, and other forward-thinking partners nationwide.

Who We Are

Plant People is scaling fast and serious.

  • We're hands-on and all-in – Everyone here builds. We take ownership, move fast, and stay scrappy. Whether it's launching a new SKU or jumping in on a last-minute shoot, we show up ready to solve, not sit back.
  • We lead with story, backed by data – We're obsessed with how things look, feel, and resonate—but we also love performance metrics, A/B tests, and sharp pivots. Creative and analytical thinking live side by side here.
  • We care deeply – About wellness. About the planet. About our customers. We're here because we believe there's a better way to help people feel good, and we want to build it together.
  • We give a damn – About the details, the deadlines, the tone of a subject line, the flavor of a gummy. We sweat the small stuff because that's what earns trust and builds brand love.
  • We communicate clearly – We believe feedback is fuel. We speak with intention, listen with curiosity, and work collaboratively—even when we disagree.
  • We stay curious – We pay attention to what's happening in culture, in science, in our community. We're always learning—and never afraid to change our minds.

About the Role

We’re looking for a social-first Content Strategist to help shape how one of the fastest-growing wellness brands in the country shows up online. You’ll lead content across Instagram and TikTok, help grow our creator network, and bring Plant People’s mission, products, and community to life through compelling stories that drive engagement, loyalty, and growth.

This is a rare opportunity to help build and shape a content function during a period of rapid growth. You’ll have the freedom to experiment, create, and establish systems that scale as the brand continues expanding across retail and DTC. You’ll help build and manage a network of photographers, videographers, creators, and collaborators while developing the processes and content strategy that bring it all together.

You’re high-agency by nature. You see opportunities and take action. You’re comfortable operating without a perfect playbook, bringing structure where it’s needed, and balancing strategy with hands-on execution. You’re a strong storyteller with a sharp editorial eye, and you understand how platforms actually work—what formats are winning, how algorithms behave, and when to pivot. You’ve created content yourself, which is exactly why people trust your direction. You don’t just brief from theory. You brief from experience.

What You’ll Do

* Own Plant People’s social content strategy across Instagram and TikTok—defining how we show up and what stories we tell

* Build our content engine from the ground up—sourcing and managing photographers, videographers, and creative collaborators

* Develop clear, actionable briefs that enable fast, high-quality execution

* Create content yourself when needed—shooting on iPhone, editing in CapCut, and moving quickly without a crew

* Partner cross-functionally (Brand, Paid, Digital) to ensure content aligns with campaigns and informs ad creative

* Collaborate on influencer and UGC strategy—from sourcing to briefing to performance

* Manage the content calendar across launches, campaigns, retail moments, and cultural opportunities

* Track performance and iterate quickly—refining hooks, formats, and cadence based on data

* Stay ahead of trends and platform shifts—knowing when to participate and when to protect the brand

* Maintain a sharp, consistent editorial voice across all content and touchpoints

Qualifications

* 3+ years in social/content, including 1–2 years in-house at a brand (CPG, wellness, beauty, or DTC preferred)

* Experience both creating content yourself and directing others—your portfolio reflects both

* Strong strategic foundation—comfortable building content calendars, channel strategies, and briefs tied to business goals

* Hands-on creator—confident shooting on iPhone and editing in tools like CapCut

* Deep fluency in Instagram and TikTok—understanding what performs and what feels native

* Strong writer with a sharp editorial eye across captions, hooks, and scripts

* Experience managing creators and UGC—from sourcing to briefing to performance oversight

* Data-informed mindset—you create for engagement and conversion, not just aesthetics

* Self-starter with high ownership in a fast-paced, scrappy environment

* Genuine interest in wellness, functional ingredients, and Plant People’s mission

What You'll Get

We prioritize the well-being of our team. As a growing company, we strive to offer meaningful perks and benefits, including:

• Opportunity to help shape one of the country's fastest-growing supplement brands

• Competitive compensation

• Company stock package

• Competitive vacation, PTO and sick day policies

• Company-subsidized healthcare (medical) and dental & vision programs

• 401(k) program up to the full IRS employee deferral limit

• Wellness reimbursement program (gym, groceries, meditation and more)

• Additional vacation days and sabbatical opportunities for long-term employees

• Quarterly company-wide mental health days

• Team-building events, offsites and social gatherings

• Free product and friends & family discounts

• A thoughtful, motivated team that values both balance and excellence
