Role: Marketing – Product Communication

Role Purpose
This role is the brand custodian and growth architect for Kotak Business Banking. The incumbent will own end-to-end brand and product storytelling, translating deep customer insight into clear positioning, differentiated narratives, and high-impact go-to-market strategies across SME and MSME segments.
The role functions like a Brand Manager — balancing brand equity with business outcomes — ensuring every communication, launch, and campaign strengthens relevance, preference, and long-term brand power, while delivering measurable growth across acquisition, penetration, and engagement.
You will be the voice of the customer, the guardian of brand consistency, and the strategic bridge between Product, Business, Analytics, Channels, and Creative partners.
Key Responsibilities of our Marketing Maverick
- Act as the brand and customer custodian for Kotak Business Banking, anchoring all marketing decisions in deep understanding of SME/MSME needs, behaviours, and category dynamics.
- Partner closely with Research and Analytics teams to uncover segment-specific pain points, triggers, and decision drivers; translate these insights into clear differentiation opportunities versus competitors.
- Shape insight-led marketing strategy by converting research into actionable inputs for positioning, proposition development, go-to-market planning, and content direction across segments and industries.
- Work alongside Product teams to define sharp messaging frameworks, value propositions, and reasons-to-believe that are rooted in customer insight and business priorities.
- Craft compelling, industry- and use-case-led narratives for SMEs, MSMEs, and emerging business segments that deliver relevance, relatability, and brand distinction.
- Lead end-to-end go-to-market strategy and execution for new product launches, ensuring strong storytelling, channel alignment, and measurable impact at launch and beyond.
- Continuously evolve communication strategies for existing products to drive deeper penetration, engagement, and usage across customer lifecycles.
- Partner with creative and media agencies to design and deliver integrated, full-funnel campaigns that build brand preference and market share in the Business Banking category.
- Ensure consistency of brand voice, messaging, and visual identity across all customer touchpoints including digital platforms, CLCM journeys, social media, on-ground initiatives, and offline assets.
- Drive robust internal communication and channel enablement, keeping Business Banking offerings, narratives, and priorities top-of-mind for sales teams, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as the unified marketing voice in cross-functional forums with Product, Business, Campaign, Analytics, and other teams, influencing decisions through strategic clarity and customer perspective.
- Monitor campaign performance through a consumer-first and business-outcome lens, optimizing strategies using data and insights, and institutionalising learnings to improve future effectiveness.
Success Metrics
- Deliver compelling marketing support to achieve target business numbers in acquisition, activation, and penetration for Business Banking products – across new-to-bank and existing customers.
- Drive sustained improvement in Kotak’s brand preference and share in SME/MSME segments through differentiated, insight-driven campaigns.
- Champion campaigns that drive engagement, improve conversion, and deliver measurable acquisition outcomes.
- Strengthen industry-specific positioning for Kotak Business Banking, creating competitive advantage and market leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant experience in marketing, preferably in Banking, FinTech, FMCG, or FMCD.
- Proven ability to leverage consumer insights to champion strategic communication and integrated marketing, with expertise in translating research into compelling, segment-relevant narratives.
- Exposure to full-funnel marketing strategies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills to align cross-functional teams effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a flair for storytelling and crafting impactful consumer-first messaging that drives tangible business outcomes.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

- MBA/PGDM in Marketing
