About the Role
We are seeking a Video Story Editor who can transform existing footage into compelling, narrative-driven motion content. This role shapes visual stories by combining editing, motion graphics, and animation to turn interviews, footage, and existing media into clear and impactful narratives.
The ideal candidate understands how pacing, sequencing, sound, and visual movement work together to communicate ideas and create emotional impact. Strong candidates also bring creative thinking to the role—proposing visual approaches to storytelling, identifying opportunities within existing footage, and using motion graphics or animation to strengthen narrative clarity.
This role works closely with the Creative Director and leadership to translate messaging goals into clear visual narratives that resonate with audiences.
Responsibilities
Narrative Video Editing
· Transform raw or existing footage into cohesive, story-driven video
· Identify key moments, soundbites, and visual sequences that strengthen narrative impact
· Structure video content with strong pacing, rhythm, and storytelling clarity
· Produce both short-form and long-form video content for campaigns, digital platforms, and presentations
Motion & Visual Storytelling
· Integrate motion graphics and animation where appropriate to support storytelling
· Use typography, animation, and visual sequencing to clarify ideas and enhance narrative flow
· Blend footage, graphics, and motion elements into cohesive visual narratives
· Drive creative impact through motion design, visual pacing, and dynamic storytelling techniques
Creative Ideation & Story Development
· Develop concepts for how stories can be told visually through motion video
· Identify opportunities to repurpose existing footage into new narrative formats
· Present creative ideas and storytelling approaches clearly to leadership
· Contribute ideas that strengthen clarity, emotional impact, and audience engagement
Content Repurposing & Optimization
· Repackage existing video footage into new content formats
· Create highlight reels, recap edits, and short-form digital clips
· Adapt content for multiple platforms and distribution channels
· Stay informed on emerging video formats, editing techniques, and digital content trends to ensure creative work remains relevant and impactful
Collaboration & Execution
· Work closely with the Creative Director and leadership to understand messaging goals and translate them into compelling video content
· Manage multiple editing projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
· Maintain organized project files and efficient editing workflows
· Receive and apply creative feedback constructively while maintaining strong editorial judgment
· Ensure final deliverables meet creative and production standards
Qualifications
· 3+ years of experience in video editing, post-production, or digital media production
· Strong storytelling instincts with the ability to shape narrative from a variety of source materials, including footage, interviews, archival media, and other visual content
· Ability to develop and present creative concepts that strengthen visual storytelling
· Proficiency in professional editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, with working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for motion graphics and animation. Familiarity with color grading and audio finishing workflows is preferred.
· Strong visual composition, attention to detail, and organizational skills
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-moving creative environment while managing multiple projects
· Familiarity with professional audio libraries such as Artlist and media platforms such as Grabien is a plus
· Portfolio required demonstrating motion graphics and animation within narrative video work, showing how motion, editing, and visual sequencing are used to create clear and compelling visual stories.
