Role Overview
Our client is growing their retail promotions team and is currently looking for a Trainee Sales Associate to support upcoming campaigns across established retail locations.
This position is ideal for someone starting their career in sales who wants real-world experience rather than classroom-style learning. You’ll be working inside busy retail environments such as shopping malls and high-footfall stores, where your role will involve engaging with customers, introducing promotional offers, and assisting with new customer registrations.
From your first day, you’ll receive structured training designed to help you develop confidence in customer conversations, understand the sales process, and learn how to guide interested customers from an initial introduction through to completion.
This is a hands-on role where the best learning comes from practical experience and daily interaction.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Trainee Sales Associate, your focus will be on creating positive customer interactions and supporting ongoing retail campaigns. Your typical activities will include:
- Starting friendly conversations with customers within retail environments
- Introducing current promotions and explaining their benefits in a clear and engaging way
- Asking thoughtful questions to understand customer needs and preferences
- Presenting suitable options based on customer responses
- Responding to questions with confidence while maintaining a professional approach
- Supporting customers through the digital registration or sign-up process
- Ensuring information is recorded accurately and all steps are completed correctly
- Monitoring daily performance and using feedback to improve results
- Representing the campaign professionally within the retail setting

Earnings & Progression
The role offers a weekly pay structure including base earnings plus uncapped commission, allowing you to increase their earnings as their confidence and performance develop. Average earnings typically range between $3,500 – $3,750 per month, paid weekly, with higher earnings possible for strong performers.
Additional performance incentives may be available for those who consistently achieve strong results.
As experience grows, individuals who demonstrate strong work ethic, reliability, and leadership potential may have opportunities to take on greater responsibility within the team.
