Sports Promo Editor Jobs in Mumbai Metropolitan Region at Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited
We are looking for a high-energy, deadline-driven Promo Editor to join the on-air promotions team at one of the region's leading sports broadcast networks. In this role, you will be at the heart of our creative machine – cutting compelling promos, topicals, tune-ins, and brand spots that get fans pumped and keep them watching.
You'll work hand-in-hand with producers, writers, and motion designers to turn raw sports footage and network assets into polished, broadcast-ready content under tight turnarounds. If you eat, sleep, and breathe sports – and you have the edit chops to prove it – we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and deliver daily topicals, match previews, highlight reels, long-form promos, and brand campaigns across linear and digital platforms.
- Collaborate with promo producers and creative directors to translate scripts and storyboards into compelling broadcast content.
- Select and cut sports footage with editorial instinct – identifying the best moments for emotional and narrative impact.
- Integrate graphics, lower thirds, motion design packages, and music beds in line with on-air brand guidelines.
- Manage media ingest, asset organisation, and conform workflows in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Sync with the traffic and scheduling teams to meet transmission deadlines without compromising creative quality.
- Revise edits rapidly based on producer feedback and last-minute editorial changes (live scores, line-up changes, breaking news).
- Maintain and archive project files, proxies, and finals in shared storage with clear naming conventions.
- Support live event coverage by preparing pre-produced elements and quick-turn highlight packages.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3–5 years of editing experience in broadcast or sports media
- Expert-level Adobe Premiere Pro (or Avid Media Composer)
- Strong proficiency in Adobe After Effects
- Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
- Deep understanding of broadcast delivery specs & formats
- Excellent sense of pacing, rhythm, and storytelling in sport
- Experience with music licensing & sound mixing fundamentals
- Ability to thrive under extreme time pressure and live deadlines
- Strong communication and collaborative working style
- Degree or diploma in Film, Media Production, or equivalent
Nice to Have
- Experience cutting promos for live sports events (football, cricket, F1, basketball, etc.)
- Motion graphics skills – able to create simple animations without a dedicated designer
- Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve for colour grading or finishing
- Knowledge of social media formats [email protected] vertical video, reels, story-optimised cuts Experience with frame.io or similar collaborative review platforms
- Working knowledge of EVS replay systems or similar broadcast playout tools
- Reel that features sports-specific promo work (strongly preferred)
