The Role
We’re looking for a Social Media Manager & Content Creator who doesn’t just know how to post content, they know how to create content that performs in today’s digital landscape. This means creating lots of short-form, authentic, creator-style photos and videos that feel personal, native to the platform, and are highly shareable.
The ideal candidate lives in the intersection of woodworking, craftsmanship, and the home cooking enthusiast community. Candidate must be obsessed with social media, know how to build relationships with influencers, and understands how to create original photo and video content at scale.
In this role, you will be expected to plan, create, and deploy professional-quality photo and video content at a rapid pace. Your ability to think outside the norms of what is considered “brand content” will be your number one priority. We believe that to grow The Boardsmith fan base, we need to create a large amount of high quality content, all the time.
Must be a strong communicator with an effortless command of the written word, be extremely detail-oriented, and schedule-obsessed.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation
- Develop photo and video content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube that feel authentic and platform-native.
- Shoot, edit, and publish content with a good mix of both run-and-gun cell phone style content with high-production value commercial style content.
- Highlight products, tell stories, and showcase the behind the scenes craftsmanship that goes into each piece.
Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure content reflects the brand ethos and voice.
- Manage The Boardsmith’s presence across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant platforms.
- Stay on top of trends, memes, and platform updates to ensure content is fresh and relevant.
- Build and execute content calendars that align with products, campaigns, and promotions mapping to brand goals.
Community Engagement
- Engage with followers, respond to comments/messages, and foster two-way conversation.
- Collaborate with makers, influencers, and other relevant social media accounts to amplify reach.
- Leverage user-generated content and community stories to expand our brand reach.
Performance Tracking
- Monitor performance metrics and use data to refine content strategy.
- Share insights with the marketing team to continually improve engagement and growth.
On-site Coverage
- Be willing & excited to participate on the ground level The Boardsmith HQ in Frisco, TX to find and capture relevant stories where the products are made.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of social media content creation and management (maker, woodworking, cooking, experience strongly preferred). Must provide example content from past experience.
- Demonstrated ability to create performative social content (show us your TikToks, Reels, or personal brand accounts that prove you know what works).
- Strong photo and video production skills (shooting and editing, primarily mobile-first tools like CapCut, InShot, etc.).
- Deep knowledge and passion for the maker & cooking community.
- Strong understanding of social media analytics and content performance.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in graphic design & illustration
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, After Effects)
- Experience with Shopify, Klaviyo, Canva, Meta Ads, and GA4
- Basic understanding of woodworking
- Experience building ambassador or influencer programs and selecting corresponding platforms
- Relationships with/Access to chefs and chef’s kitchens in the DFW area

- Develop new and creative ways to tell stories directly and indirectly related to The Boardsmith.
- Be the driving force for a active and engaged community of Boardsmith customers and enthusiasts.
Compensation & Benefits
- Full-time W-2 role (40 hrs/week) with a competitive salary range of $60,000–$75,000 based on experience.
