Misfit Marketing is a boutique social-first creative agency based in New York. We work with founder-led consumer brands across food, hospitality, and CPG, helping them show up online in a way that feels real, not like a brand pretending to be cool.
We're hiring up to three Social Media Interns for Summer 2026 to work directly with our founder and small team. This is a hands-on opportunity to learn how a boutique agency actually runs, build relationships with NYC creators and brand founders, and walk away with a portfolio of real work.
We're also a very AI-forward agency, so this internship is going to be genuinely educational when it comes to how AI is reshaping social media and creative work. You'll learn how we use AI day to day across content, research, and strategy, which is a skill set that's only going to matter more.
What you'll do:
- Community engagement: replying, engaging, and staying active on our clients' social media accounts
- Light content creation and strategy, especially staying on top of social trends and helping us turn them into shoot-ready ideas
- Supporting our UGC and influencer programs, from outreach and list-building to coordination
- Attending influencer events and client shoots with us around NYC
- Helping us run client shoots (we'd love an extra set of hands on set)
- Researching competitors, trends, and creators; keeping our Notion trackers tidy
- Pulling weekly performance numbers and supporting monthly client recaps
What we're looking for:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program
- You spend too much time on TikTok and Instagram and have strong opinions about what's good
- We'd love it if you're already a content creator yourself, because you may end up in our content too
- Proficient in Canva, TikTok, and Instagram
- Bonus points if you know your way around Capcut, Notion, Google Workspace, ChatGPT, and Claude
- Organized, proactive, and able to juggle multiple clients without dropping the ball
- Flexible with your schedule, especially for evening influencer events, shoots, and the occasional weekend

- A portfolio of work for real consumer brands by the end of summer
- Lots of fun things around downtown NYC (events, dinners, openings, shoots)
Logistics:
- Hybrid, with our office in Flatiron. Expect at least 2 days per week in office, but realistically you'll be running around the city with us a lot, especially for shoots and events
- 15 to 20 hours per week, May 1st through August 31st (potentially on going)
- Unpaid, for school credit only
