Position Overview
We are seeking a Product Development Manager to lead the end-to-end development of seasonal paper goods collections. This role combines product development with strong project management and commercial awareness. You will drive product innovation, develop customer programs, communicate with factories, oversee timelines, collaborate cross-functionally, and ensure our assortments resonate with customers while meeting margin and quality targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop seasonal product lines including gift wrap, gift bags, tags, greeting cards, and stationery, décor, etc.
- Manage the product lifecycle from concept through production and delivery
- Partner with design, sales, and sourcing teams to align on trends, themes, and customer needs
- Develop product specification briefs, assortments, and line plans based on market insights and sales data
- Track project timelines and ensure key milestones are met across multiple seasons simultaneously
- Source materials and work closely with vendors to achieve quality, cost, and sustainability goals
- Review prototypes, samples, and production runs to ensure product integrity and brand standards
- Monitor industry trends, competitor offerings, and consumer preferences to inform new concepts
- Collaborate with merchandising and sales teams to support go-to-market strategies
- Manage budgets, costing, and pricing strategies to meet margin objectives
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and speed-to-market
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of experience in product development, preferably in paper goods, stationery, or seasonal products
- Strong understanding of printing processes, materials, and packaging production
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions
- Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office (Adobe Creative Suite is a plus)
