Schedule: Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)

Overview:
Our client, a leading fashion brand, is seeking a highly skilled Handbag & Footwear Production & Product Development Manager to oversee both the development and production lifecycle across categories. This role will be responsible for bringing product from concept to completion while ensuring quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands-on, with strong leadership experience managing teams across production and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end product development and production processes for handbags and footwear, from concept through commercialization
- Manage and mentor direct reports, including the Handbag Production Manager and Footwear Production Manager
- Partner closely with design, merchandising, and technical teams to translate creative vision into commercially viable products
- Oversee seasonal development calendars, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met
- Collaborate with sourcing teams to identify and onboard factories and vendors aligned with quality and cost targets
- Review prototypes, samples, and materials to ensure design intent and quality standards are achieved
- Drive cost negotiations, margin targets, and production efficiencies
- Monitor bulk production, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to avoid delays
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, sustainability initiatives, and ethical sourcing practices
- Continuously assess and improve development and production processes
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in product development and/or production within handbags and/or footwear (experience in both strongly preferred)
- Prior experience managing direct reports and leading cross-functional teams
- Strong understanding of materials, construction, and manufacturing processes
- Proven ability to manage timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
