About us:
Subko is committed to an ideal: to help reimagine, re-design. and re-invent an
unlikely origin-the Indian Subcontinent as a legitimate contributor to the global
specialty coffee and craft baking movements. Only raw materials enter Subko's
roastery: all of the coffee and bakehouse products are crafted from scratch, in
house. From crop to cup, bean to bar, and farm to table. We aim to provide a
detailed, high quality coffee and bake experience to all our guests.
About the role:
This position will be reporting to the Head of Brand & Communications and Dotted
line reporting to the Creative Director
Path way to Associate Creative Director
Location: Byculla, Mumbai
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and directly manage a team of 3–4 designers, setting creative standards, mentoring talent, and building a high-performance design culture
- Work as a close creative partner to the Subko Brand Head and Creative Director, contributing to brand strategy and creative direction
- Build strong design briefs and lead design research that anchors creative output in cultural insight and strategic intent
- Execute across a wide and fast-moving portfolio of work maintaining brilliant creative quality within rigorous timelines
- Drive omnichannel digital output across social platforms: long-form, short-form, video, still, and ecommerce formats
- Drive the studio's Indic maximalism and typography-led design aesthetic across all touchpoints
Requirements:
- 5+ years of work experience at a senior or lead design level with exceptional craft
- People management experience with 3+ direct reports
- Proven ability to write and build design briefs grounded in research
- Fluency in digital omnichannel production: social, e-comm, video, still
- Comfort thriving in high-output, multi-workstream environments
- Genuine passion for Indic aesthetics, typography, and cultural storytelling
- Experience with print asset creation and packaging
- Strong track record of creative performance results
