At Stuff Digital, we reach millions of Kiwis every month with content that informs, entertains, sparks conversation and drives action. Now we’re looking for a commercially savvy storyteller who knows how to create content people actually want to engage with.
Although the role includes social-first storytelling, a core part of the position remains creating and optimising article-led commercial content across Stuff’s publishing platforms. However, this isn’t just a traditional content role.
It’s part creative producer, part social strategist, part audience analyst with a front-row seat to how AI and emerging technologies are transforming digital storytelling.
You’ll create high-performing commercial campaigns across social, digital, video and print, working with some of New Zealand’s biggest brands while collaborating with talented creatives, strategists, journalists and sales teams.

What You’ll Do
- Create compelling commercial storytelling across Stuff’s platforms
- Produce social-first content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and emerging channels
- Write, edit and package content that captures attention and drives engagement
- Use analytics and audience insights to optimise campaign performance
- Manage commercial campaigns from concept through to reporting
- Build social creatives including reels, stories, carousels and short-form video
- Work closely with clients, strategists, creatives and editorial teams
- Identify trends, content opportunities and audience behaviours before everyone else does
- Experiment with AI-assisted workflows and emerging production tools
- Deliver reporting and actionable insights using tools like Google Analytics, Parse.ly and Meta Ads Manager
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in digital media, branded content, publishing or content production
- Strong editorial instincts and excellent writing/editing skills
- An understanding of trusted publisher environments
- Deep understanding of social platforms and what makes audiences engage
- Confidence working across multiple formats – video, social, digital and print
- Experience with analytics and reporting tools
- Understanding of how content travels across platforms and how audiences discover and engage with stories
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut and Meta Business Suite
- Strong organisation skills with the ability to juggle multiple campaigns
- Curiosity, creativity and a genuine interest in where content and technology are heading
- Understanding of AI tools and emerging digital trends is a big plus
