Client Overview: Our client is a lifestyle brand that blends art, color, and optimism into home and fashion pieces designed to evoke emotion and joy. This is a hands-on, in-person position based in Westport, CT.
Role Overview: The Associate Art Director will play a key role in executing and evolving the company’s visual identity across all marketing initiatives. This position requires a highly creative individual with strong design fundamentals, digital fluency, and attention to detail. The role blends conceptual thinking with hands-on execution, supporting campaigns from ideation through delivery while ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
Associate Art Director Responsibilities:
- Conceptualize, design, and execute integrated digital marketing campaigns across email, web, and social platforms
- Partner with leadership to translate creative vision into compelling visual executions
- Maintain and evolve brand identity, ensuring consistency across all digital and print materials
- Apply strong typography, color theory, and layout principles to enhance storytelling and user experience
- Design and update website assets including homepages, landing pages, banners, and navigation elements
- Create and manage Shopify content, ensuring optimized and on-brand digital assets
- Produce marketing materials including emails, lookbooks, catalogs, postcards, and other collateral
- Support photo editing needs including retouching, color correction, and asset resizing
- Assist with photoshoots to ensure high-quality visual content for campaigns and seasonal launches
- Organize and manage digital assets using tools like Dropbox
- Support wholesale materials such as line sheets and custom creative projects
- Continuously bring fresh design ideas, trends, and innovations to the team
- Present creative work clearly and effectively to stakeholders
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards
Associate Art Director Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant design experience (fashion or lifestyle experience preferred)
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Solid understanding of digital and print design production
- Experience with photo editing and retouching
- Working knowledge of web design principles, UX/UI for desktop and mobile
- Basic understanding of HTML & CSS
- Familiarity with Shopify and email marketing platforms (e.g., Klaviyo)
- Strong portfolio demonstrating both digital and print design work
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Creative thinker with an “artistic eye” and ability to generate original ideas
