Role Description

As an Assistant Brand Manager at Glico, you will play a pivotal role in driving brand growth through the planning, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies. We are looking for a proactive, high-potential marketer who can bridge the gap between creative brand vision and grounded commercial execution, with the long-term goal of evolving into a fully independent Brand Manager.

  1.  Brand Strategy & Action Plans: Identify potential growth opportunities and market trends to develop comprehensive brand strategies and actionable plans.
  2. Commercialization & NPD Leadership: Lead the end-to-end commercialization process for product portfolio management and new product launches, ensuring all projects are landed effectively and on schedule.
  3.  Integrated Campaign Execution: Spearhead annual campaigns and monitor brand performance (e.g., brand health, market share) using data-driven insights to optimize communication and media strategies for maximum impact.
  4. Product Positioning & Messaging: Define precise positioning for existing and new products, outlining target audiences, communication strategies, and key messaging across all consumer touchpoints.
  5. A&M Budget Management: Take full responsibility for Advertising & Marketing (A&M) budget management, ensuring optimal ROI through rigorous monitoring, forecast management, and expense control.
  6.  Agency Management: Lead creative and media agencies to synthesize analytical insights and creative excellence into high-impact implementation plans.
  7.  Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a key liaison across Shopper Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain, and supporting function teams to ensure brand messages and business goals are delivered consistently. 

Qualifications

  1. Education: BA degree required; MBA or Master’s degree in Marketing is preferred.
  2. Professional Experience: Minimum 3+ years of brand marketing experience, strictly within the FMCG industry.
  3. Language Proficiency: Fluent English is a must-have; Japanese language capability is a significant plus.
  4. Analytical & Digital Excellence: Strong data analysis skills and strategic planning abilities to translate insights into growth strategies.
  5. Proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Power BI, enabling efficient data analysis and automated reporting.
  6. Growth Mindset & Agility: A proactive "can-do" attitude with a strong desire to challenge the status quo; possesses a test-and-learn mentality to continuously unlock market potential.
  7. Passion & Knowledge: Genuinely passionate about the Food & Beverage category and well-versed in core brand management concepts.
  8. Skills & Attitude: Highly proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working independently. Solid experience in managing integrated brand marketing campaigns and large-scale activations.
