The content covers real-world experiences, industry-specific topics, and current events, delivered through a mix of long-form discussions and short-form clips. The platform aims to provide engaging, honest perspectives while maintaining a consistent publishing schedule and strong audience connection.
Position Overview
The YouTube Video Editor will be responsible for transforming raw reaction footage into fully packaged, high-performing YouTube videos. This role goes beyond editing and includes thumbnail creation and publishing, requiring strong execution, speed, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate can follow clear creative direction, work efficiently within a daily workflow, and deliver polished, engaging content optimized for viewer retention and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and produce 1 YouTube video per day (Monday to Friday), typically 10 to 15 minutes
- Transform raw reaction footage into polished, engaging long-form content
- Sync reaction footage with source videos for smooth and cohesive flow
- Cut for pacing by removing dead space, filler, and improving clarity
- Add jump cuts, zooms, and light graphics to enhance engagement
- Ensure a strong hook within the first 5 to 15 seconds
- Insert mid-roll ads based on provided direction and timing
- Maintain clean, balanced audio and consistent visual quality
- Design thumbnails based on provided direction and create multiple variations
- Follow existing thumbnail style focused on clarity, contrast, and emotion
- Upload and publish videos in YouTube Studio (titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails)
- Maintain a consistent daily publishing schedule
- Deliver all content on time with fast turnaround
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience editing YouTube content, especially reaction or commentary videos
- Strong understanding of pacing, retention, and audience engagement
- Experience creating thumbnails optimized for click-through performance
- Ability to follow structured workflows and clear direction
- Strong attention to detail in editing, audio, and final delivery
- Ability to meet daily deadlines and work efficiently
- Strong communication skills and responsiveness
- Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in fast-paced, daily publishing environments
- Familiarity with YouTube Studio and video optimization
- Understanding of thumbnail strategy (emotion, contrast, text variation)
- Prior experience using Slack for communication
