VISUAL DEVELOPMENT LEAD / ART DIRECTOR
Reports to: Writer-Director
Engagement: Production phase, with handoff overlap with director at end of pre-prod
Location: London, UK
ROLE SUMMARY
The daily creative steward of the locked visual bible. Sits between the writer-director and the Gen AI production team to enforce visual consistency across the film's aesthetics throughout production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Internalise and protect the visual bible through a handoff overlap with the writer-director.
• Conduct daily creative QC on all Gen AI output before it moves to selects/edit.
• Approve shot frames against locked concept references; flag and resolve consistency drift.
• Maintain a living style guide that captures decisions made during production.
• Partner with the AI Pipeline Lead on style consistency techniques (reference workflows, LoRA training, prompt adjustments).
• Liaise with the on-call concept artist for gap-filling needs.
• Conduct weekly visual reviews with the writer-director.
• Track and enforce continuity of the world's visual rules across all characters and locations.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• 8+ years as Art Director or senior Visual Development artist on feature animation, VFX-driven films, or AAA games.
• Must have shipped at least one large-scale fantasy or world-building project.
• Strong taste, decisiveness, and the temperament to absorb and protect another director's vision.
• Familiarity with Indian mythological aesthetics is a strong plus.
• Experience with AI-generated content workflows is a plus, not a requirement.
