Position: Videographer Student (Summer 2026)

We are currently seeking a Communications Student to join our Woodlands team and focus on creating exceptional video content. The selected candidate will travel throughout New Brunswick and Nova Scotia to film in forested areas, visit our operations, and attend community events. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller who enjoys working outdoors, capturing authentic field footage, and producing engaging visual content that highlights the people, places, and sustainable forestry practices across our regions.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to forest operations, field sites and community events to see some amazing places, meet interesting people and capture authentic video footage
  • Film interviews, b-roll, environmental footage and behind-the-scenes content that highlights our purpose and work in the field
  • Quickly edit short and long-form videos for social media, internal storytelling and other communication channels
  • Maintain organized footage libraries with accurate naming conventions and backups
  • Work closely with the Senior Communications Lead to ensure that visual content aligns with brand standards and communication objectives
  • Represent Irving Woodlands professionally while on-site with employees, contractors, partners and community members

Qualifications

  • Experience using mobile video, video cameras, gimbals, cage kits, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software (either professional or consumer versions)
  • Video editing skills, including colour correction, sound balancing and storytelling through sound and picture edits
  • Experience in creating videos with mobile phones for social media
  • Comfortable working independently with limited creative supervision
  • Able to hike, walk uneven terrain and spend extended periods outdoors
  • Comfortable traveling across the regions and working remotely
  • Strong eye for detail in filming, editing and file management
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the regions
