We’re hiring a Video Podcast Engineer to run recording sessions inside a growing podcast studio in Richmond, VA.
This is not just a technical role — it’s a client-facing position where you’ll own the full recording experience from setup to delivery.

About the Role
You’ll be responsible for running podcast recording sessions from start to finish — including setup, recording, client interaction, and file delivery.
This role is contract-based ($25/hour) with flexible scheduling based on client bookings — but it requires consistent weekday availability.
Important
This role is not a casual side gig.
- Be available within an 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM window
- Maintain consistent availability throughout the month
If you are unavailable more than 5 weekdays per month, this role will not be a fit.
What You’ll Do
- Operate live switching (ATEM or similar systems)
- Monitor and adjust audio levels in real time
- Set up cameras and lighting before sessions
- Arrive 30 minutes early to prepare the studio
- Guide clients through the recording process
- Handle hybrid sessions (in-studio + remote guests)
- Collect client assets before sessions (logos, branding, etc.)
- Save, organize, and deliver final recording files
- Maintain a clean, organized, and ready-to-go studio
What We’re Looking For
- Strong reliability — you show up early, prepared, and consistent
- Excellent communication skills — you’re comfortable working with clients
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Able to operate independently without constant direction
- Experience with podcast production, live production, or similar environments
Compensation
- $25/hour (contract)
- Paid for:
- Recording sessions
- Typically 3–6 hours/week minimum
- Strong potential for more hours as bookings grow
