About The Role

We are seeking a talented Video Editor to join Sunco's Marketing team, playing a pivotal role in expanding our video content pipeline. The ideal candidate will be responsible for editing both short-form and long-form videos used in advertisements, social media campaigns, tutorials, and brand storytelling initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with content managers, writers, designers, and videographers to bring creative concepts to life while ensuring adherence to Sunco’s brand standards and performance objectives. The Video Editor will be instrumental in producing engaging, platform-specific video content that resonates with diverse audiences and enhances brand visibility across multiple digital channels.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in film production, multimedia, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience as a video editor with a strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating end-to-end editing for digital platforms, especially in advertising.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with moderate experience in 2D motion graphics.
  • Experience editing content from various sources, including product footage, lifestyle shoots, user-generated content (UGC), and screen recordings.
  • Strong understanding of pacing, visual storytelling, composition, and motion design principles.
  • Familiarity with sound design, including sound effects, dialogue cleanup, music selection, and audio mixing.
  • Experience tailoring content specifically for social media and e-commerce platforms, especially short-form video formats.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a distributed, multicultural team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for staying updated on industry trends, new tools, and best practices in video production.
  • Experience with product, ecommerce, or B2B video campaigns is a plus.
  • Professional proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Availability and willingness to work hours overlapping with 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Pacific Time.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with content managers, writers, designers, and videographers to develop video concepts, editing plans, and basic storyboards.
  • Edit short-form and long-form videos for various digital channels, including ads, promotions, tutorials, and brand storytelling, using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar tools.
  • Create platform-native edits and variations optimized for Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Vimeo, and other channels, focusing on format, length, hooks, and calls to action.
  • Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, tone, and visual style across all video content.
  • Add graphics, subtitles, motion design, and basic animations to enhance engagement and clarity.
  • Perform basic color correction and audio cleanup, including music, sound effects, and voice balancing, adhering to licensing and brand guidelines.
  • Optimize video files, thumbnails, titles, and metadata to improve SEO and discoverability.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, creator best practices, and competitor content, and suggest innovative formats or creative tests.
  • Organize and maintain video assets, project files, and exports for efficient collaboration and reuse.
  • Incorporate stakeholder feedback while maintaining high quality standards and meeting project deadlines.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, communicating progress and potential risks effectively.
  • Partner with external videographers or agencies by providing clear briefs and edit requirements when necessary.
  • Support other video and content-related tasks as needed to meet team objectives.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and work hours that substantially overlap with 9:00 am – 5:00 pm PT.
