You will own the editing pipeline end-to-end.

The Role Overview

This role exists to produce consistent, high-quality video content across short-form and long-form platforms so that the company builds audience, authority, and demand ahead of launch.

You’ll work directly with the founder and content lead to:

  • Turn raw footage into scroll-stopping short-form
  • Craft narrative-driven long-form YouTube content
  • Maintain a premium, consistent brand identity

This is not a “task editor” role.

You are responsible for output quality and performance.

Responsibilities (Outcome-Based)

You are accountable for:

  • Producing high-performing short-form videos (15–60s) optimised for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts
  • Delivering polished long-form YouTube content (5–20 min) with strong narrative structure
  • Owning editing quality across pacing, sound design, transitions, and motion graphics
  • Ensuring fast turnaround times without compromising brand standards
  • Selecting thumbnail-ready frames and visual hooks that drive clicks and retention

Deliverables

🎬 Short-Form

Weekly Output

  • 15 videos (15–60 seconds, vertical 9:16)

Per Video

  • Hook within first 1–2 seconds
  • Captions and platform-native pacing
  • Clean cuts, sound design, transitions
  • On-brand visuals

Turnaround

  • 24–48 hours

Goal

  • Maximise retention, engagement, and watch time

🎥 Long-Form

Weekly Output

  • 1–2 videos (5–20 minutes, YouTube)

Per Video

  • Strong hook and clear narrative structure
  • Polished edit (colour grading, sound, pacing)
  • Motion graphics and music
  • 2–3 thumbnail-ready frames

  • 3–5 days

What Success Looks Like

You’re winning when:

  • Weekly content output is consistent and on schedule
  • Short-form videos retain attention within the first 3 seconds
  • Average view duration hits 50%+ on short-form content
  • Long-form videos show strong retention curves and engagement
  • Revision rounds are minimal (≤2 per video)
  • Content directly contributes to follower growth and audience engagement

Required Experience

(Execution + Ownership)

You’re expected to operate independently and deliver consistently—but not define company-wide strategy.

You should have:

  • Proven portfolio in short-form and/or YouTube editing with measurable results
  • Strong instincts for pacing, hooks, and storytelling
  • Experience editing platform-native content (TikTok, Reels, Shorts, YouTube)
  • Ability to structure longer narratives (interviews, documentaries, breakdowns)
  • High attention to brand consistency and visual quality

Tools / Environment

You’ll work primarily with:

  • CapCut
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Motion graphics tools (e.g., After Effects or equivalent)

Environment:

  • Fast-paced, startup-style execution
  • Async collaboration with rapid feedback loops
  • High output expectations
  • Minimal bureaucracy
