The Video Editor will not just assemble footage but craft compelling narratives that align with the director’s vision while elevating the brand's aesthetic. The Video Editor will be the key creative voice in the 风和日丽 Sunnysideup, responsible for producing high-impact bilingual content that resonates with the mandarin speaking audience. . 风和日丽 Sunnysideup is OGS’s bilingual media brand that focuses on hot button conversations for Mandarin-speaking audiences to share perspectives and discuss everyday topics and trends.
We are looking for a storyteller who understands the pulse of the internet – Someone who knows why a video goes viral and how to replicate that magic through pacing, rhythm, and visual flair.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the assembly of video edits, from creative brief to final delivery.
- Review shooting script and raw material to identify the most engaging story beats.
- Managing and delivering multiple video projects independently under tight deadlines
- Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
- Support post-production graphics, music, dialogues, and visual effects needs, where possible with advanced post-production needs.
- Stay updated on social media trends to propose and implement editing styles that maximise audience retention on various platforms.
Requirements:
- 2- 4 years of professional video editing experience, preferably within a digital media or creative agency environment.
- Excellent command of Mandarin (written/spoken) to ensure subtitles, tones, and cultural references are accurate and engaging for the target audience.
- Familiar with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Photoshop (After Effects a plus)
- Demonstrable video editing ability with video portfolio, specifically documentaries, host-driven content and Tiktoks
- Deep understanding of social media algorithms and viewer retention metrics.
- Detail-oriented and organised
- Team player with a positive attitude and good work ethic
