Venture Capital Manager Jobs in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates at Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi)
We are currently looking for a Venture Capital Manager to support a key initiative within the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) on a 12-month freelance contract.
DCT Abu Dhabi is the government entity responsible for driving the sustainable growth of Abu Dhabi’s culture and tourism sectors, playing a central role in positioning the emirate as a global hub for culture, creativity, and tourism.
This role sits within a high-impact program focused on developing Abu Dhabi’s gaming ecosystem and strengthening access to venture capital for gaming studios. The successful candidate will help shape and establish Abu Dhabi’s gaming venture capital activity, addressing the early-stage funding gap from pre-seed through Series B.
Key Responsibilities
Venture Capital Strategy & Design
- Help expand Abu Dhabi’s gaming venture capital activity to support the growth of local and international ventures
- Develop investment theses, target stages, ticket sizing, and the balance between financial returns and ecosystem impact
- Assess and recommend potential deployment models, including anchor LP, fund-of-funds, direct investment vehicles, and partnerships with established fund managers
- Define governance frameworks, KPIs, and operating models for investment vehicles
- Support the development of business cases and recommendations for leadership and funding partners
Investor & Fund Manager Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with gaming-focused venture capital funds, fund managers, and ecosystem partners
- Source and evaluate specialist gaming investors and prospective fund-manager partners regionally and globally
- Engage accelerators, founder programs, and co-investors to strengthen the local pipeline
Startup Diligence & Investment Evaluation
- Run diligence on gaming studios seeking funding and support investment decisions
- Lead commercial, financial and IP diligence on early to growth-stage studios
- Prepare investment memos and recommendations with a clear, well-evidenced standard
Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience within fast paced ecosystem and proven internal promotions
- Experience within MBB or equivalent top-tier strategy consulting firm, venture capital funds, corporate venture arm, or equivalent environment
- Direct hands-on exposure to investment evaluation, due diligence, or transaction support activities

- Ability to assess investment opportunities and communicate findings clearly

- Ability to operate in fast-paced and evolving environments
Experience & Exposure
- Experience supporting innovation, venture capital, or corporate venture capital initiatives
- Exposure to investment sourcing, pipeline development, and portfolio management
- Experience conducting commercial, financial, and operational due diligence
- Familiarity with term sheets, cap tables, investment structures, and venture financing mechanisms
- Exposure to media, entertainment, interactive media, gaming, or creative industries is an advantage
- Familiarity with fund-of-funds structures, or anchor LP models is preferred
- Strong working knowledge of AI tools and their application to strategy, investment evaluation, and due diligence
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the GCC preferred
