MAIN PURPOSE

As part of the Travel Retail Asia Marketing Team and reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Assistant Marketing Manager will actively participate in driving IPSA & The Ginza’s brand growth in the Asia Pacific Travel Retail market by supporting the team on the roll-out of all trade initiatives, as well as business monitoring.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Marketing & Trade Support

  • Support the Marketing Manager in planning and executing trade activations to support new launches & brand’s key bets – including animations, events and digital campaigns – in accordance with brands’ guidelines:
  • Support in-store animations roll-out from end to end, liaising with internal and external parties.
  • Provide the Digital Marketing team with creative briefs to roll-out e-retailer digital initiatives (e.g., social media posts, homepage banners, shop-in-shop upgrade).
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders (e.g., Commercial, Visual Merchandising, Pricing teams) to ensure smooth roll-out of key launches both online and on-counter.
  • Responsible for planning & tracking of POSM usage based on trade plan & regions’ needs.
  • Update Marketing calendars, Assortment files, and prepare seasonal Marketing Books for retailers’ presentation.
  • Support the team in daily operations follow-up (e.g., stock fulfilment, quality issues, or any trade-related matter).
  • Lead the development of brand collaterals (e.g., on-counter tools, brochures, gift boxes).
  • Partner with the VM team to ensure timely VMD changes, aligned with animation calendars and in strict adherence to Brand Holder guidelines.

Forecast Deliverable, Sales Monitoring & Reporting

  • Support the forecasting process of Novelties, Gift with Purchase (GWP) and samples with the right level of analysis/insights, in collaboration with Demand planning & Commercial teams.
  • Ensure sufficient allocations of novelties forecasts for all regions.
  • Tracking of promotions implementation.
  • Work closely with Demand Planning to ensure accurate and accountable forecasting for novelties, TREX assortments, GWPs, and sampling programs, supporting inventory optimization and sales achievement.
  • Keep abreast of competitors activities & consumer trends in the Asia regions.
  • Work with commercial and monitor SIT for key SKUs and key regions

Marketing Reporting & Analytics

  • Support Marketing Manager in providing marketing support to Management and Commercial teams across product launches, sell‑in, and sell‑through performance.
  • Responsible for monthly business monitoring (analysis of sell-in and sell-out by region, brand lines, customers and top SKUs) & reporting to Brand teams/Headquarter.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reviews, translating data into clear insights, opportunity sizing, and recommended actions.
  • Present marketing deployment plans and performance updates to Commercial, Retail Education, and Visual Merchandising teams to drive alignment and execution excellence.
  • Conduct regular deep‑dive performance reviews, including SKU productivity, franchise contribution, campaign ROI, and promotion effectiveness to identify growth levers.
  • Actively monitor competitor activities and emerging beauty trends across Asia, providing timely recommendations to maintain and strengthen competitive advantage.

Budget Management Support

  • Support Marketing Manager on A&P budget tracker and maintenance
  • Support on BPC system input for budget LE

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Commercial, Finance, agencies, and retailers, to drive alignment, innovation, and results across the region.

Other Administrative Support

  • Maintenance of master data files, product samples ordering, raising of purchase requisitions and any other administrative duties assigned from time to time.
  • Support the team on monthly meetings / presentations.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a recognized university degree, preferably in Marketing / Business
  • At least 5 years’ relevant working experience in either sales or marketing function, preferably in FMCG and / or Beauty Player with successful track records
  • Prior experience in Travel Retail will have an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of China market/Chinese consumers is a plus.
  • Strong business acumen
  • A strong good team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions/levels.
  • Independent with ability to multitask and proven experience in managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates agility and proven experience in operating effectively under ambiguity.
  • Positive, results oriented and demonstrated organization skills.
