Purpose Of The Role
As the Team Lead, Events, you’ll take charge of leading a talented team of event professionals, overseeing end-to-end event delivery, and managing key client relationships. This is a hands-on leadership role that demands strategic thinking, operational excellence, and a passion for people. You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, role model to your team, and a key contributor to Reed & Mackay’s ambitious growth strategy.
- Deliver exceptional support to key clients, the General Manager and the broader Events team.
- Foster strong relationships across all departments at Reed & Mackay, sharing industry-leading market insights and best practices in Events.
- Drive maximum revenue growth across all Reed & Mackay Events offerings while ensuring a substantial return on investment for clients.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing event planning team to achieve excellence in client service and event execution.
- Set clear goals, provide real-time feedback, and support ongoing training and professional development.
- Manage team workload and capacity, collaborating with other leaders to flex resources when needed.
- Recruit, onboard, and integrate new team members, fostering a high-performance and inclusive culture.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of key clients, ensuring a consistent, high-touch service experience.
- Deliver creative, tailored event solutions that align with client goals and elevate the Reed & Mackay brand.
- Lead complex projects from conception to execution, including budgets, timelines, logistics, and vendor management.
- Lead seamless on-site event execution when required, representing Reed & Mackay with professionalism, poise, and a commitment to high-touch service that reflects our brand values.
Operational Excellence
- Drive revenue growth and operational efficiency across the Events portfolio.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to set departmental goals and align event delivery with broader business objectives.
- Monitor market trends and client feedback to proactively identify service enhancements and growth opportunities.
- Support the evolution of internal systems, workflows, and best practices that scale with the business.
- Provide on-site support for events when necessary, acting as the face of Reed & Mackay.
Strategic Contribution
- Collaborate with the General Manager to align departmental goals with broader business objectives.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, business growth, and enhanced client value.
- Contribute to the development and execution of strategic initiatives within the Events Department.
- Take ownership of additional responsibilities or projects as assigned.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years in event sourcing and planning.
- 2+ years of proven leadership experience in managing, mentoring, or developing teams
- At least 2+ years using Cvent or a comparable event management platform.
Core Competencies
- Proven ability to communicate with clarity and poise, delivering persuasive messaging across all platforms.
- Strong project management abilities; able to juggle multiple complex projects with competing timeline.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen — comfortable with budgeting, pricing, and ROI analysis.
- Technologically fluent: Strong in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and quick to learn new platforms.
- Strong, reliable, and proactive time management skills; adaptable to shifting priorities and schedules.
- A genuine passion for events, travel, and global experiences
- Strong problem-solving skills with a calm, professional, and empathetic approach to challenges.
- Able to thrive in a high-growth, dynamic setting and remain flexible with shifting priorities.
- Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours (including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed).
- Willingness to provide on-site event support as required.
The posted pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the compensation for this position and is subject to change based on business need. To determine a successful candidate’s starting pay, we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location, an evaluation of the candidate’s skills and experience, market demands, and internal parity.For roles with on-target-earnings (OTE), the pay range includes both base salary and target incentive compensation. Target incentive compensation for some roles may include a ramping draw period. Compensation is higher for those who exceed targets. Candidates may receive more information from the recruiter.
Pay Range: $70,000 USD – $80,000 USD
