We are looking for Freelancers for our Manchester location.
1.1. About Outset Studios
We started Outset in 2018 with a simple idea: give podcasters, broadcasters, and creators a proper space to make great content. Seven years later, we're the go-to podcast studio in London, with spaces at London Bridge, Shoreditch/Hoxton, and Manchester, and we're still growing.
We're looking for a Studio Assistant to join the team.
This role sits at the heart of what we do. You'll be the person clients meet when they walk through the door, the one who gets the studio ready, keeps sessions running smoothly, and makes sure every guest leaves happy. Alongside that, you'll get to roll up your sleeves on some of our own creative projects too.
We're not looking for someone who needs a script for every situation. We want someone who uses their initiative, spots problems before they become problems, and genuinely enjoys being around people and the creative process. Good time management and a calm head go a long way here.

What you'll be doing
No two days are exactly the same, but here's what the role looks like day to day:
- Getting the studio set up for each session, with clean cable management and everything in its place
- Welcoming clients, settling them in, and walking them through how to get the best out of the studio
- Operating cameras and audio equipment when a videographer or sound engineer is needed
- Keeping on top of inventory, making sure kit is maintained and nothing goes missing
- Keeping the studio clean, tidy, and ready for the next session
Don't worry if you haven't done all of this before. We have simple systems and clear processes in place, and all training is paid.
What we're looking for
- Some experience with editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro is a plus)
- Good time management and the ability to use your initiative
- Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
- A genuine interest in content, audiences, and what makes things engaging
- Someone who's reliable, detail-oriented, and easy to work with
- The ability to stay calm and flexible when plans change
