SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Participates in the creation and adjustment of the NFB’s content creation strategy, in partnership with the Head of Creative Services and the Marketing Director. Works closely with Senior Marketing Advisors and the Head of Creative Services to define content strategies in support of the NFB’s brand, business objectives and productions specific to the needs, target audiences and engagement goals of assigned projects.
Guides and advises colleagues in the execution of impactful initiatives and publications; works to expand their reach, drive audience engagement in the Canadian market and meet the highest quality standards. Produces content performance reports on a regular basis that highlight learnings and reorient content creation strategy when necessary. Establishes standards, benchmarks and KPIs for the use of specific platforms while leveraging their complementarity, increasing their reach and ensuring harmonized use.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops action plans and content strategies based on business orientations and derived objectives established by Marketing leadership; defines key performance indicators.
- Identifies key social media platforms and opportunities to expand to new platforms, and proposes strategies that adapt to and meet the needs of audience segments; guides and coordinates the development of new social media platforms aimed at increasing audience size and engagement.
- Conducts strategic monitoring of social media usage trends and best practices related to user experience (UX); works to evolve internal practices in this regard, advises colleagues and external collaborators on the proper use of these tools and encourages the adoption of best practices.
- Gathers and analyzes data to identify consumer opportunities and adapt content creation, annual strategy and current or future creative briefs.
- As a team member, participates in discussions and contributes to ideation and content design aimed at promoting NFB works, audience retention and growth.
- Collaborates with colleagues in creating impactful and spontaneous content captured during shoots, institutional events, festivals, screenings, etc.
- Conducts strategic watch, stays informed on digital practices (search engines, content trends, industry consumer behaviour, etc.) and actively participates in team discussions on these topics.
- Plans the update of online content based on evolving standards and trends.
- Ensures editorial consistency across all digital content and social platforms.
- Performs competitive and market analyses as well as audits of digital actions, and develops performance reports and recommendations for corrective actions; presents findings to various stakeholders.
- Establishes performance indicators for each action and uses various tools and methods to measure performance; participates in the creation of personas and user scenarios, and uses tools to plan, track, measure, analyze and optimize action performance.
- Prepares and leads collaborative ideation sessions with the Creative Services and Marketing teams.
- Leads paid social strategy and budget management to boost content reach, and manages small-scale conversion‑driven media campaigns.
REQUIRED TRAINING, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- University degree in Communications, Marketing, Writing or Journalism;
- Certification in e-commerce is an asset;
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role;
- Experience in writing digital content and knowledge of best practices related to user experience (UX);
- Proficiency in using tools or software such as Google Trends, Google Keyword Tool, Google Analytics, CMS, META Business Suite and META Ads Manager;
- Familiarity with web-development activities;
- Bilingualism in the official languages (French and English), both orally and in writing.
