About The Role
Forbes is seeking a talented Social Producer/Editor with proven experience in creating original, platform-specific content for social media channels such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. This role involves producing highly engaging, social-first video content at scale, with a focus on short-form videos that resonate with diverse audiences across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scripting, shooting, editing, and finalizing content that aligns with Forbes’ journalistic standards and brand voice. This position requires a creative, fast-paced individual who can manage multiple projects simultaneously, work collaboratively with various teams, and adapt to the evolving social media landscape. The role is based in Jersey City, requiring five days a week in-office presence or on-site at events, with a focus on delivering innovative content that supports Forbes' strategic goals and editorial initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of video editing experience in digital publishing, production companies, agencies, or brand environments.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects; working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, and Figma.
- Experience with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, Threads, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and Bluesky.
- Strong scripting, voiceover recording, and story editing skills.
- Deep understanding of platform-specific algorithms, features, and best practices for organic reach and engagement.
- Ability to monitor trending content, memes, challenges, and incorporate them into social strategies quickly.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Strong editorial judgment with knowledge of news, politics, business, and pop culture.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Open to feedback and adaptable in a team-oriented environment.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; residency in California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Washington.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and finalize high-volume, engaging social-first video content tailored to multiple platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and Bluesky.
- Develop platform-native content involving scripting, shooting, editing, staging, and posting to maximize engagement.
- Perform sound mixing, color correction, and other post-production tasks to ensure high-quality output aligned with brand standards.
- Deliver rough cuts and final assets within deadlines, incorporating feedback from project stakeholders.
- Maintain consistency with Forbes’ journalistic and brand standards across all content.
- Collaborate closely with the video team, creative directors, and other stakeholders to produce content aligned with editorial and strategic goals.
- Support the creation of content for various programming areas, including editorial, events, brand campaigns, third-party partnerships, streaming, and internal initiatives.
- Participate in pre-production and on-set workflows, supporting social-first video production tied to Forbes’ key editorial moments and franchise lists.
- Implement high-level social strategies across platforms such as Meta, Instagram, TikTok, X, and Bluesky, ensuring content aligns with strategic objectives.
- Provide social media support for internal campaigns, ensuring cohesive messaging and timely delivery of content.
