WHO WE ARE
Bennett Creative is a video-forward marketing agency based in Austin, Texas. Founded in 2018 by Andrew and Dorothy Bennett, we specialize in producing exceptional visual content and running high-performance campaigns for small to medium-sized businesses. We are a 15-person team that works collaboratively and holds our creative output to a high standard.
OUR CULTURE
We are looking for people who are professional, helpful, cheerful, and eager to grow in their career and skill set. Our office is a place where creative folks can flourish and have fun, but also believe that good work is hard work. It’s a gentle environment. No one will ever yell at you. We don’t curse. We’re not very edgy. We just like making nice, creative marketing campaigns with nice, creative people.
THE ROLE
The Social Media Manager role is a high-ownership, client facing role at Bennett Creative. You are the day-to-day engine of a portion of our social department, managing your own portfolio of client accounts, leading onboarding experiences, writing content strategy, and ensuring the logistics of every one of your accounts run without a hitch. You report directly to the Director of Social Media and serve as a key partner in delivering the department’s promise to clients.
Client Ownership & Account Management
- Portfolio Management: Directly own and manage a portfolio of client accounts, serving as their primary point of contact for strategy, content, and communication.
- Client Onboarding: Lead the onboarding process for new clients; conducting intake calls, gathering brand assets, building strategy documents, and setting clear expectations for how we work.
- Retention Focus: Your accounts are your responsibility. Deliver enough consistent value through great content, clear communication, managing expectations and strong results that clients renew without hesitation.
- High-Stakes Communication: Handle difficult client conversations with professionalism and confidence. Escalate to the Director when appropriate, but aim to resolve proactively.
- Responsiveness: Clients should never wait more than 18 hours for a response from you. Internal team members and leadership should never have to chase you down.
Content Strategy & Creative Execution
- Content Ideation: Write creative concepts, content pillars, and campaign ideas for each client in your portfolio. Your ideas should be platform-native, video-forward, and tailored to each brand’s voice.
- Strategy Documents & Creative Decks: Produce and maintain annual and quarterly strategy documents and creative decks for each account, submitted to the Director for review and approval.
- Platform Fluency: Stay current on platform shifts (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn) and adapt your creative strategy accordingly. Our clients expect 2026-standard thinking.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Digital Ads and Editors to communicate the creative needs of your accounts and ensure production quality meets our standards.
- Ads Creative Ownership: Own the creative strategy for paid social ads across your accounts. You are responsible for the quality, direction, and performance of ad creative and you’ll be held accountable to click-through-rate (CTR) as a key metric of creative effectiveness.
Logistics, Operations, and Ads Coordination
- Account Logistics: Own the organizational backbone of your accounts: scheduling, approvals, content calendars, and platform publishing using tools like PostFlow, ClickUp and Slack to stay on top of every deadline.
- Ads Team Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between your accounts and the internal ads team. Communicate creative briefs clearly, align on campaign goals, and ensure your content and their targeting strategy are working together.
- Process Adherence: Follow and contribute to the internal workflows and SOPs built by the Director. Flag inefficiencies and suggest improvements, but prioritize consistency and scalability in everything you do.
- Reporting: Pull and synthesize monthly performance data for each account in your portfolio. Surface insights to the Director and prepare client-facing reports with a clear POV on what’s working and what to adjust.
SUCCESS INDICATORS
- Account Retention: 95% client renewal rate across your personal portfolio.
- Portfolio Performance: 100% of your accounts meeting minimum engagement (>5%) and growth benchmarks.
- Ads Click-Through Rate: Ad creative produced for your accounts meets or exceeds internal CTR benchmarks.
- Onboarding Experience: New clients feel oriented, confident, and excited after the onboarding process you lead.
- Operational Timeliness: Content calendars, approvals, and deliverables are consistently on time across your accounts
YOUR SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Social Media Experience: 3+ years managing social media accounts professionally, ideally in an agency setting.
- Content Strategist: A proven ability to develop creative concepts, write compelling content ideas, and translate a brand’s voice into platform-native storytelling.
- Video-First Thinking: You understand the role of video in modern social strategy and can brief and direct video content effectively.
- Organized & Reliable: You don’t drop balls. Your accounts are buttoned up, your deadlines are met, and your clients feel taken care of.
- Collaborative Communicator: You work well with internal teams (ads, video, leadership) and are a clear, responsive communicator.
- Professionalism: You model the business-appropriate social presence and professional decorum we expect from the entire team.
- Austin-Based: Must live in Austin and be able to work on-site at our office.
- Education: 4-year college degree required.
SALARY & BENEFITS
- Salary: $65-$75k/year
- Time Off: Unlimited PTO + 10 paid bank holidays.
- Health & Retirement: 50% employer-paid health insurance and 401k program with 3-4% matching (after 12 months).
