Compensation:  $32–38/hour, depending on experience (see range below)

Location:  Hybrid (Denver, CO), (on-site as needed for content production)

Department:  Marketing

Reports To:  Founder

FishNook is America's tinned fish marketplace, bringing the world's finest conservas to curious food lovers across the US. We're looking for a Social & Content Manager who owns our social presence end to end and brings real design skill to the role. You'll run our accounts across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and beyond, and you'll produce the high-quality static and short-form content that lives on those channels, our website, and our paid campaigns.

We have an established brand, an active paid media program, and a back catalog of product photography. We need someone who can execute within that system at a high level: build clean, on-brand statics and slideshows, cut native short-form video, and feed strong creative into our advertising. You'll start hourly at 32 to 35 hours a week and we expect this to scale to full-time as the role grows.

Key ResponsibilitiesSocial Media Management (Core)

  • Own the content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other relevant platforms, planning, scheduling, and publishing in line with FishNook's marketing priorities.
  • Manage the community day to day: comments, DMs, reposts, and user-generated content, all in a timely, on-brand voice.
  • Monitor trends, platform and algorithm changes, and competitor activity, and adapt the approach accordingly.
  • Track and report on the metrics that matter: reach, engagement, follower growth, and conversion signals.

Design & Static Content

  • Produce high-quality, on-brand static content for social, web, and campaigns using Photoshop, Figma, or comparable professional design software.
  • Build slideshows, carousels, and promotional assets from our existing product photography catalog, repurposing and adapting across formats and platforms.
  • Execute within FishNook's established brand system: colors, type, tone, and aesthetic.
  • Design print touchpoints that require design work: package inserts, promotional postcards, and mailer assets that complement our digital program.

Short-Form Video

  • Capture and edit native short-form video (Reels, TikToks) on a phone or simple kit, with a strong instinct for hooks, pacing, and what performs on each platform.
  • Support founder-led video by producing and editing around it; this role complements on-camera founder content, it doesn't replace it.
  • Maintain an organized, accessible content library so assets are easy to find and reuse.

Paid Social Creative

  • Produce the static and video creative that feeds our paid social campaigns, in partnership with our media agency (which manages Meta and Google ad buying).
  • Own the creative testing pipeline: generate variations, track what works, and iterate. This role makes the ad creative; it does not manage the ad accounts or media budget.

Creator & Influencer Program

  • Run outreach and content coordination against FishNook's existing influencer and affiliate playbook: identifying creators, sending briefs, managing timelines and approvals.
  • Ensure all creator content meets brand guidelines and FTC disclosure requirements.
  • Program strategy and budget stay with the founder and marketing team to start. Ownership of the program can scale to this role as the hire proves out.

Qualifications & SkillsRequired

  • Proven experience managing brand or agency social accounts, with a portfolio or examples of past work.
  • Real graphic design ability in Photoshop, Figma, or equivalent professional tools, with a portfolio that shows polished, on-brand static work.
  • Ability to capture and edit native short-form video for Instagram Reels and TikTok.
  • Strong written communication and an instinct for a natural, engaging, on-brand voice.
  • Self-starter who manages deadlines independently without heavy oversight.
  • Comfortable operating a camera or smartphone to capture product and lifestyle content.

Preferred

  • Experience producing paid social creative or working alongside a media-buying agency.
  • Experience supporting an influencer or creator program, including FTC-compliant briefs.
  • Familiarity with social scheduling tools (Later, Planoly, Buffer, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Shopify or DTC e-commerce brands.
  • Experience with print marketing assets (inserts, postcards, promotional cards) and how they fit a broader digital program.
  • Genuine interest in food, specialty grocery, or the tinned fish space.

Compensation

This role pays $32 to $38 per hour, depending on experience. You'll start hourly at 32 to 35 hours per week, and we expect this to scale to full-time as the role grows. Annualized, that looks like:

  • 32 hrs/week: approximately $53,000 to $63,000 per year
  • 35 hrs/week: approximately $58,000 to $69,000 per year
  • Full-time (40 hrs/week): approximately $67,000 to $79,000 per year

Final rate depends on demonstrated design and content skill. A strong portfolio moves the number.
