Heyday Communications is seeking a creative and highly organized Social Media Manager (Contract) to support a roster of food & beverage and hospitality clients, including restaurants, bars, and boutique hotels.
This is a hands-on, content-forward role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, understands visual storytelling, and is comfortable both behind the camera and behind the feed.
About the Role
As a Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing social media strategies across multiple client accounts while also capturing day-to-day content in the field. You’ll work closely with the PR and account teams to bring each brand’s voice, aesthetic, and story to life online.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day social media accounts for multiple clients (Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant platforms)
- Develop and schedule content calendars aligned with PR campaigns, seasonal moments, and client goals
- Capture original photo and video content on-site at restaurants, hotels, and events
- Edit short-form video content (Reels/TikTok) and create engaging static posts and stories
- Write compelling, on-brand captions tailored to each client’s tone of voice
- Engage with audiences, respond to comments/messages, and support community growth
- Track performance metrics and provide basic monthly reporting insights
- Collaborate with PR team on campaign rollouts, launches, and press moments
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience managing social media accounts for brands (hospitality experience strongly preferred)
- Strong content creation skills (photo + video capture; iPhone proficiency is acceptable if quality is strong)
- Working knowledge of editing tools (CapCut, Adobe Express, Canva, or similar)
- Strong eye for aesthetics, especially in food, beverage, and lifestyle storytelling
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent communication and reliability in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel locally for shoots and on-site content capture (primarily NYC-based)
