Role Description

The Social Content Creator + Strategist is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role demands a sharp creative eye and an instinct for culture. You'll lead content strategy and execution for @dr.idriss (181K) and @idrissderm (14.6K), and serve as a creative thought partner on @shereeneidriss (1.5M), Dr. Idriss's personal platform and the brand's largest reach vehicle. You'll work closely with the CMGO and Brand Director to ensure the full content ecosystem ladders up to brand growth and commercial performance.

You can shoot, edit, and concept  and you have the range to move between a clinical skincare explainer and a moment that makes someone tag their friend. You've helped a brand find a voice that didn't feel like a brand, and you have the work to show for it. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop original, brand-aligned content concepts that reflect Dr. Idriss's clinical authority and cultural point of view for organic and paid social
  • Film elevated, social-first video content in our office, at the clinic, and on-location throughout NYC, capturing clinical expertise, founder moments, customer stories, and the precision of the brand
  • Edit short-form videos with a refined sense of pacing, composition, and platform fluency across TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, and emerging channels
  • Capture a range of content from product launches, reformulation stories, founder education, customer testimonials, clinic behind-the-scenes, and UGC-led storytelling
  • Stay ahead of cultural and platform trends in the beauty and wellness space, bringing forward new ideas, formats, and editing styles that feel distinctly Dr. Idriss
  • Deliver fast, clean, polished edits with multiple versions for testing and optimization across paid social channels
  • Concept and execute performance marketing video ads that balance clinical credibility with performance-driven storytelling hooks, CTAs, and narrative structures
  • Build repeatable content franchises and systems that drive customer acquisition, not just one-off viral moments
  • Track performance analytics and optimize content based on business outcomes
  • Manage, mentor, and help grow a content creation team

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of experience in a social creative role, with specific expertise in social media creative (beauty, wellness, or DTC preferred)
  • Expert-level video production: shoot on iPhone, edit in CapCut/Premiere/Final Cut, deliver platform-optimized exports
  • Beauty category knowledge: competitive landscape, ingredient function, credible voices vs influencer noise
  • You’re excited and inspired by the world of social media – the first to share among colleagues and friends the latest trends, effects, tracks, etc. on TikTok
  • You’re obsessed with internet culture, the latest memes and trends, online subcultures and communities
  • You’re a storyteller who can create captivating insights that range from educational to aspirational and everything in between
  • Platform fluency across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube with deep understanding of algorithm mechanics and content performance drivers
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Copywriting ability to match brand voice precisely and adapt by platform
  • Analytics literacy to track meaningful metrics and attribute content to revenue outcomes
  • Ability to move fast, concept to delivery in under 2 hours when cultural timing demands it
  • Portfolio showing range: educational content, cultural moments, founder-led work, UGC activation
  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Design, or a related field is preferred.
