Frima, a video game development studio based in Quebec City and Montreal, has been crafting unforgettable games for over 20 years. We are looking for a Senior UI Designer to join our UI team on a new project.
Job Description
- 4.5 days of work per week, year-round (Friday pm off).
- Truly flexible working: 100% remote, hybrid, or 100% in person.
- Up to 7 weeks vacation per year, plus sick and personal days.

What Your Weeks Are Going To Look Like
- Serve as the UI Art expert on the project, both internally and with external partners.
- Ensure the quality, consistency, and evolution of the visual direction for the project’s user interfaces.
- Illustrate and design video game interface elements.
- Conduct visual research.
- Sketch, conceptualize, and implement interfaces.
- Participate in defining a game’s visual style.
- Develop navigation diagrams (flowcharts).
- Assemble and initially integrate designs into Unity game engines.
- Document process workflows for the production team or the client.
- Support UI designers by providing guidance and sharing best practices in UI Art.
- Contribute to the evolution of the tools, templates, and work methods used in UI within the studio.
- Participate in project retrospectives and draw lessons to improve future UI processes.
Qualifications
- College degree in graphic design, visual arts, multimedia, or a relevant field.
- At least ten (10) years of experience designing interfaces for video games.
- Expertise in UI Art to design interfaces that are attractive, functional, and aligned with the project’s artistic direction.
- Knowledge of user/machine interaction (ergonomics).
- Mentoring skills.
- Excellent level of French and English (written and spoken);
English skills are required to perform the job. - Portfolio and/or demo required.
