Location: Remote; Since most productions will be in the Metro Vancouver area, preference will be given to candidates living in that area.

StoryWorks Studio brings together established teams across strategy, creative, media, and production to develop and share powerful brand stories that connect with audiences and drive action. StoryWorks operates within the Mediology Network, a growing collective of agencies delivering integrated marketing and media solutions.

StoryWorks Studio is headquartered in the Vancouver area and collaborates with teams and partners across Canada. It will officially launch in Spring 2026, building on an existing portfolio of clients and active campaigns.

Role Summary

The Senior Producer leads and manages video and content productions from concept through final delivery across television, digital, and social platforms. This role sits at the intersection of creative development and production execution, ensuring creative ideas are translated into well-executed, high-quality productions while maintaining efficiency, strong production standards, and budget discipline.

The Senior Producer works closely with the President, VP Strategy, Studio Director, media teams, and account teams to shape story-driven content and translate creative concepts into practical production plans. The role also collaborates closely with directors, cinematographers, crews, and editors to bring those ideas to life on set.

The role will require both producing shoots directly and overseeing productions to ensure creative intent, storytelling quality, and production standards are maintained. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with established teams across multiple agencies and help shape the evolution of an integrated content and production capability as StoryWorks continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Development & Production Planning

• Collaborate with strategy, creative, and account teams to translate campaign objectives into production plans.

• Contribute to early creative development with studio and strategy teams, helping shape storytelling structure, production approach, and feasibility.

• Help shape scripts, shot lists, and production concepts that align with campaign strategy, media plans, and project budgets.

• Translate creative direction into practical production decisions including visual approach, locations, interview structure, and on-set execution.

• Apply StoryWorks’ storytelling framework to ensure productions capture the narrative elements needed to build strong, story-driven content.

Production Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Work closely with the President to develop production budgets aligned with campaign objectives and project scope.

• Prepare detailed production estimates and cost breakdowns.

• Track production spending and flag potential budget risks early.

• Identify opportunities to maximize production value while maintaining efficiency and quality.

Production Leadership

• Lead and manage productions from concept through final delivery.

• Develop production schedules, timelines, and execution plans.

• Ensure productions remain on schedule and within approved budgets.

• Maintain strong production standards across all projects.

On-Set Production Management

• Attend and manage shoots when required.

• Oversee on-set execution to ensure the creative vision and storytelling objectives are achieved.

• Work closely with directors, cinematographers, crew, and talent to execute the creative plan.

• Problem-solve in real time to keep productions running smoothly and maintain production quality.

Coordination with Internal Teams

• Work closely with content, production, media buying, and account teams.

• Provide clear production direction to internal post-production teams, where applicable.

• Ensure final assets meet technical specifications and delivery requirements for broadcast and digital platforms.

• Oversee final asset preparation and delivery to broadcasters, telecasters, and digital platforms.

• Support efficient workflows for ongoing content production.

Coordination with External Production Partners

• Identify and manage relationships with external production vendors, freelancers, and creative collaborators.

• Brief directors, cinematographers, editors, and other partners on project objectives and creative intent.

• Manage schedules, deliverables, and budgets with external production partners.

• Ensure external teams deliver work aligned with creative vision and production standards.

• Provide production leadership and creative guidance to partner teams working with our Ontario collaborators.

Production Quality & Standards

• Maintain a high standard of production quality across all projects.

• Ensure content aligns with StoryWorks’ storytelling approach and creative standards.

• Work with the Studio Director to refine and evolve production processes and workflows as needed.

• Contribute to evolving production systems and workflows as the organization scales.

Skills & Experience

• Strong understanding of, and experience with, story-driven content and narrative development

•Experience producing commercial, broadcast, or large-scale branded content productions

• Strong understanding of production workflows from concept through delivery

• Experience collaborating with creative teams and translating creative concepts into production execution

• Experience coordinating both internal teams and external production partners

• Ability to manage production budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously

• Comfortable managing shoots and leading on-set production when required

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
