As a Senior Matte Painter, you will play a pivotal role in our Environment Generalist team at Wētā FX. Your responsibilities include overseeing matte painting processes, collaborating across departments, and developing techniques for photo-real environments. With your artistic eye and technical skills, you will adapt to workflows while ensuring high quality in delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and support Matte Painting technical approaches
• Oversee and mentor team members in their work
• Participate in project bidding and scheduling efforts
• Create and enhance environments using photoreal methodologies
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure project success
Requirements:
• 5+ years creating photoreal environments in production
• Proficient in Maya, Houdini, Solaris, Nuke, and Photoshop
• Strong skills in Lighting, Compositing, and Lookdev
• Experience with Procedural modeling processes
• BFA or equivalent in relevant fields
