Senior Creative Manager Jobs in United States at HR Pals

The Senior Creative Manager isn't your typical B2B marketing design role. This is a high-impact position in a fast-paced startup where you'll see your work directly influence the business.

You will be the creative force behind how our client communicates complex smart connected technology to both business and technical buyers. This means understanding the needs and wants of both audiences in order to find the right visual languages to communicate the company’s value. You will use design to translate technical complexity into compelling marketing assets. You won't just make things look good. You will help make things sell!

As a strong independent contributor also managing one graphic designer and occasional freelancers, you will own projects from concept through execution. You report to the VP of Marketing as a creative thought partner, but operate with significant autonomy. You will partner closely with Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and Sales to create a breadth of marketing and sales materials, webpages, event materials, demand generation advertisements, and email campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Revenue-Focused Creative and Marketing Support

  • Work closely with Demand Generation to deliver visual assets for digital ads, content syndication opportunities, Fireside Chats (webinars), and other Demand Generation activities that drive quality high-converting MQLs for the company
  • Partner closely with the Product Marketing to create webpages, email campaigns, use cases, case studies, social media content, and other visual and written content that attracts and converts MQLs into SQLs
  • Work closely with your colleagues in the field to provide all the creative elements that are needed to represent the brand, and to help the company achieve its goals
  • Work closely with the Developer Relations team to help them execute creative projects and assets in order to help deliver on their goals

Strategic Brand and Stakeholder Management

  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create slide decks and other materials for customers, partners, investors, the board, and other key stakeholders. The Senior Creative Manager deeply understands the needs and requirements of the business and provides creative ideas that are within scope and budget
  • You work confidently with customers to build a high-level of trust when our client secures the opportunity to represent the customer's brand or story in case studies, webpages, tradeshow booths, and other marketing campaigns
  • You maintain the Brand and Design Guide. The Senior Creative Manager is the steward of the brand guide, responsible for enforcing and updating when needed
  • You keep up with current design, IoT, tech, and key vertical industry trends and best practices with the intent of exceeding them
  • You translate complex hardware and SaaS technology into visually compelling narratives that business and technical buyers can quickly understand and connect with
  • You think strategically about design, knowing not just what looks aesthetically pleasing but why it works for the audience, sales journey, and the business objective

Website and Digital Management

  • As the steward of the company website, the Senior Creative Manager thinks holistically about the purposes, strategy, content, experience, and performance of the website
  • Manage, maintain, report, and increase the performance of the website

Project Management and Execution

  • Ensure the quality and timely completion of projects while managing key stakeholders
  • Anticipate opportunities or problems with projects and proactively implement solutions
  • Scope out projects, develop timelines, and assign/maintain tasks
  • Conceptualize and create graphics and videos that simplify complex concepts

Operations and Vendor Management

  • Design and maintain company swag, gifts, uniforms, and Shopify
  • Find and hire creative contractors and agencies to enhance performance

People Management

  • Manage one graphic designer, and occasionally freelancers
  • Foster a collaborative, outcome-focused team culture across all levels and disciplines
  • Occasional travel for events and team offsites

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience and Background

  • 7-10+ years of in-house, agency or freelance experience in a B2B or Business-to-Developer (B2D) setting
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent design field experience
  • Experience marketing technically complex B2B products or services (ideally hardware and/or SaaS, or true platform companies)
  • Experience creating for demand generation or revenue-focused teams

Design Excellence

  • Excellent design taste and creative judgment
  • Deep knowledge of Figma, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator (Adobe Creative Cloud)
  • Expert in PowerPoint, including creating and managing master slides and templates
  • Knowledge of how to develop and maintain brand identities
  • Professional portfolio of past works showcasing various projects

Technical and Platform Skills

  • Web design or web management experience
  • Hands-on experience with applying design, copy, or web best practices

Professional Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with keen attention to detail
  • Project management skills
  • Ability to interact with senior leaders, clients and other industry professionals
  • Talent in pitching and presenting

Work Style and Mindset

  • Self-managing and able to stay on task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to provide meaningful critiques and corrections to others works
  • Willing to learn new mediums, visual styles, and processes
  • A sense of ownership, dedication, and commitment

Bonus Skills:

  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSON
  • Proficient with video software such as Premiere Pro
  • Experience with animations and video editing
  • Understanding of cutting-edge media technology
  • CAD-based software experience
  • SEO and AEO strategy implementation
