Role Description

Christopher Kimball's Milk Street is looking for experienced recipe developers for immediate project work with a possible long-term full time employment at our offices in downtown Boston, MA. The recipe developer will be responsible for creating, adapting, and testing recipes for publication and other platforms and execute thorough stress-testing on cooking techniques, equipment, and ingredients. Food science training or degree is preferred for the project and possible full time role. Tasks include researching global cuisines and cooking techniques, collaborating with the editorial team, and ensuring meet the organization’s standards of quality, accessibility, and thorough record-keeping.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in technique and equipment testing, recipe development, recipe writing, and test result documentation to ensure original, practical, and high-quality recipes and content.
  • Experience with research and knowledge of global cuisines, cooking techniques, and culinary trends.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively contribute to editorial and media projects.
  • Attention to detail, particularly in writing, editing, and proofreading recipes and related content.
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring home cooks, with a focus on creating accessible and creative culinary solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience is highly beneficial. Candidates with food science background are particularly encouraged to apply.
