THE ROLE
We’re looking for a sharp, organized, and collaborative Production Coordinator to join the New Metric Media podcast team in Toronto. This is a hands-on role at the intersection of production coordination, project management, and creative development.
You’ll help keep multiple podcast productions moving smoothly, managing timelines, coordinating guests, overseeing post-production workflows, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
You’ll also serve as the team’s on-the-ground presence in Toronto, working closely with two senior leaders who are based remotely. This means we’re looking for someone who is proactive, communicates clearly, and can represent the team with confidence at head office while keeping projects organized and moving forward.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Production & Project Management
- Own production schedules across active podcast shows, keeping each episode on track from concept through publishing.
- Coordinate guest bookings and manage all communications from initial outreach through recording day.
- Oversee post-production workflows, working with editors to ensure audio meets quality standards and deadlines.
- Write and publish show notes, coordinate transcripts, and manage episode distribution across podcast platforms.
- Liaise with Business & Legal Affairs (BLA) on contracts, clearances, and compliance requirements.
- Manage day-to-day studio operations in Toronto, ensuring the space is organized, functional, and ready for production.
- Coordinate third-party studio bookings, managing schedules, client relationships, and smooth session execution.
Creative Development Support
- Partner with Creative Directors to organize and track podcast development projects and pitch materials.
- Maintain pitch decks and development documentation so materials are current and presentation-ready.
- Coordinate brainstorms and creative meetings, helping maintain momentum on projects in development.
- Track projects through each stage of development, flagging blockers and keeping stakeholders informed.
Toronto Head Office Presence
- Serve as the primary on-site liaison for the podcast team at the Toronto office.
- Build strong working relationships across departments and connect remote leadership with local teams.
- Proactively communicate updates, issues, and wins to remote-based Executive Producers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of experience in media production, production coordination, or a similar role in a content or media environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once.
- Comfortable working with remote leaders, communicating proactively and taking ownership without needing constant direction.
- Confident using project management and organizational tools to keep work on track.
- Fluent in Google Workspace and Slack.
- A collaborative, team-first attitude — someone who cares about the work and the people making it.
- Familiarity with the Canadian media or podcast landscape is a bonus, but not required.
- Candidates with experience in podcast production, audio post-production, or studio production environments are especially encouraged to apply.
COMPENSATION
The expected salary range for this role is $55,000 – $70,000 CAD, commensurate with experience, skills, and qualifications.
LOCATION & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based in Toronto and is expected to work primarily from the office, typically four days per week, in line with our collaborative and creative working style. Some flexibility may be available depending on business needs.
WHY JOIN US?
At New Metric Media, we’re a collaborative, creative, and fast-moving team that takes our work seriously, but not ourselves. We’re passionate about building bold entertainment brands and creating memorable content that connects with audiences around the world.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced creative leaders while helping support and grow New Metric Media’s expanding podcast slate. You’ll play a key role in keeping productions running smoothly while contributing to the development of new shows and ideas.
