The Role
Our Post Production Assistant plays a crucial role in our video pipeline by ensuring our editing team has exactly what they need to succeed. You will be the organizational backbone of our post-production process—responsible for ingesting and managing media, prepping project files, running simple edits, and providing general day-to-day support for our Freelance Video Editor Pool in North America, and our regional offices.
You will maintain meticulous file structures, handle media, and ensure deliverables are prepped to technical standards. As part of a small, collaborative team, this role requires a proactive mindset, a love for organization, and an eagerness to step in and support successful project outcomes wherever needed.
How You Will Make Your Mark
Media & Asset Management:
- Ingest, back up, and organize all raw footage, audio, and graphics onto shared drives using our established folder structures and naming conventions.
- Maintain project files, ensuring all assets, documentation, licensing information, and deliverables are readily accessible.
- Execute project wrap-up procedures, diligently archiving materials to free up drive space and support final delivery paperwork.
Post-Production & Editor Support:
- Prep projects for the Video Editor by syncing audio, grouping multicam footage, and creating rough string-outs or assemblies.
- Assist the editor by hunting for specific b-roll, sourcing stock music or footage, and organizing sound effects.
- Troubleshoot basic post-production or software challenges and proactively seek solutions.
Editing & Delivery:
- Take on simple editing tasks, including social media cutdowns, resizing aspect ratios, versioning, and adding subtitles or lower thirds.
- Export and deliver final assets, meticulously checking that they adhere to brand guidelines, technical specifications, and platform deadlines.
Team Support:
- Support the wider creative team on tasks as and when required to ultimately support client impact
Culture & Collaboration
- Eagerly absorb knowledge from senior team members to support your own skills growth, confidence, and editorial eye.
