About the Role
Starshine Music is looking for a Pop Music Video Director & Producer (Part-time) to conceptualize and execute music videos for English pop music from start to finish. This role requires full ownership across creative direction and execution, while operating effectively within lean budgets.
The role involves closely aligning with the artist’s vision while contributing strong independent creative direction and execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end music video creation: concept, storytelling, scripting, and visual direction
- Translate English pop song vision into compelling visual narratives aligned with brand and artist intent
- Plan and execute shoots, including cinematography approach, shot breakdowns, and direction
- Identify and manage locations, cast, props, and production logistics within budget constraints
- Coordinate and manage collaborators (videographers, editors, actors, etc.) for smooth execution
- Handle or oversee editing, post-production, and final output quality
- Leverage AI tools for video creation, enhancement, or experimentation where relevant
- Ensure consistency in visual identity, storytelling quality, and audience appeal
- Continuously propose creative ideas to improve storytelling, engagement, and production efficiency
Requirements and Skills
- Strong, hands-on experience in end-to-end music video creation (concept to final output), preferably for English pop or similar genres, with proven project work
- Ability to independently handle direction, storytelling, and execution in low-budget or resource-constrained environments
- Solid understanding of cinematography, visual storytelling, and production planning (including shoots, locations, cast, and logistics)
- Practical knowledge of video editing and post-production workflows, with ability to oversee or execute final output
- Familiarity with AI video tools and ability to integrate them effectively into production workflows
- Strong collaboration skills to align with artist vision while contributing independent creative direction
- High ownership, problem-solving ability, and execution focus in a remote and flexible setup
- Strong aesthetic sense aligned with modern pop music visuals
- Access to or experience managing a network of collaborators
Work Schedule and Setup
- Part-time, project-based role (per video)
- Flexible schedule
- On-ground shoots will be on weekends (Saturday/Sunday)
Additional Details
- Starshine Music is an independent label, not a traditional company setup
- This is a contract-based, work-for-hire role
- Selected candidates may be required to sign an NDA for unreleased content
- Long-term commitment depends on performance and mutual fit.
- All final video rights will belong to Starshine Music, with proper creative credits provided
