We are seeking a talented, highly organized, and detail-oriented Interior Designer to join our boutique studio.
This is an in-studio, part-time working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Applicants must already reside in the Austin area.
At J.Fisher Interiors, every project is highly customized. You'll work directly with the Principal Designer and gain hands-on experience in every phase of the design process, from concept development and construction documentation to procurement, installations, and styling. This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants to grow quickly and learn how a luxury residential design studio operates from start to finish.

Responsibilities
- Produce AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, cabinetry details, and construction documents
- Create SketchUp models and presentation renderings
- Prepare client presentations, design boards, specifications, and proposals using Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
- Source furniture, lighting, plumbing, tile, stone, hardware, fabrics, accessories, and finish materials
- Develop and maintain finish schedules for paint, tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware, cabinetry, and other project selections
- Communicate professionally with vendors, contractors, workrooms, and clients
- Request pricing, product specifications, lead times, shop drawings, and samples
- Assist with procurement, order tracking, freight coordination, and resolving vendor issues
- Attend site visits, take field measurements, and document project progress
- Assist with installation days by organizing deliveries, inspecting merchandise, styling spaces, and ensuring every detail is completed to our standards
- Maintain organized project files, Google Drive folders, and the studio materials library
- Assist with professional photography, social media content, newsletters, and website updates
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional accuracy and organization
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in an interior design firm
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Workspace
- Strong understanding of residential interior design, furnishings, materials, and construction documentation
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to learn
- Reliable transportation for local site visits and errands
Preferred
- Interior Design degree
- Experience with Studio Designer
- Luxury residential design experience
Compensation
- $22-$30 per hour, depending on experience
- Part-time
