Digital Media Editor, CGTN Global Business
Full Time, 12 month renewable contract
About CGTN and the Role:
Join CGTN, a global media organization renowned for delivering impactful international news coverage and insightful analysis across economic trends, business developments, and market-influencing policies. As a New Media Editor for our flagship program, Global Business, you will significantly influence the digital narrative by creating engaging content tailored to global audiences through various online and social media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
• Edit and publish engaging videos daily for CGTN.com, CGTN Biz, and multiple social media channels.
• Produce creative and innovative video content optimized for digital and social media platforms.
• Shoot original video footage and implement visual effects using industry-standard software, including Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro (FCP).
• Continuously research, pitch compelling story angles, and produce factual, engaging, and globally relevant video content.
• Exercise exemplary editorial judgment, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and audience engagement in content creation.
Qualifications:
• At least two years of professional experience as a video editor (required for visa purposes).
• Proven proficiency in video editing software, specifically Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.
• Strong understanding of video production processes including filming, editing, and post-production.
• Active and expert use of social media platforms, such as YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook.
• Previous newsroom or journalism experience, preferably within a recognized news network.
• Exceptional writing and communication skills in English, with a talent for crafting compelling headlines and stories.
