Position: Occasional Music Teacher YCDSB
YORK CATHOLIC DISTRICT SCHOOL BOARD is seeking an occasional music teacher to enrich student learning from FDK to grade
8. Through engaging lessons, you will inspire students’ love for music and learning.
As a music teacher, you will create and evaluate lessons based on the Board’s curriculum while traveling to various locations within the district. Candidates must have a background in music, demonstrating capabilities in teaching vocal music, recorders, or percussion. You will support the development of students’ literacy and numeracy skills through music, while also enhancing teachers’ instruction with your expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver engaging music lessons across multiple schools
• Evaluate student performance and musical understanding
• Teach various musical instruments and vocal techniques
• Collaborate with educators to support student learning
• Stay updated with the Ministry’s music curriculum expectations
Requirements:
• Qualifications in music education for Primary or Junior levels
• Ability to read music and demonstrate vocal skills
• Experience with teaching instrumental music
• Accreditation in Orff or Kodaly is preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration
