About Advoc Digital
Advoc Digital is a Toronto-based performance marketing agency specializing in helping food, beverage, and lifestyle brands grow their direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales. We partner with premium brands across Canada and the United States to create social-first creative and performance marketing campaigns that deliver measurable business results.
Our work sits at the intersection of storytelling, design, content creation, paid media, and emerging AI technologies. As a boutique agency, you'll work directly with our founders while collaborating closely with our Client Services, Paid Media, and Creative teams—giving you ownership, exposure, and career growth that's difficult to find in larger organizations.
Why This Role Is Different
Unlike traditional design roles, this position blends content creation, multimedia design, storytelling, photography, videography, performance marketing, and AI-assisted creative workflows.
We're looking for someone who enjoys both thinking and making—someone who wants to create social-first content that captures attention, strengthens brands, and drives measurable business results.
What You'll Do
Creative Content Creation
- Design and produce engaging static, motion, and video content for social media, paid advertising, websites, email marketing, and other digital channels.
- Capture photo and video content including product, lifestyle, behind-the-scenes, and campaign creative.
- Create social-first content tailored for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms.
- Ensure all creative aligns with each client's brand identity, objectives, and audience.
Video Production & Motion Design
- Film, edit, and produce short-form video content using Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or equivalent tools.
- Create motion graphics, animations, captions, transitions, and other visual enhancements.
- Optimize creative for platform-specific best practices, placements, and formats.
Creative Strategy & Ideation
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute original campaign concepts and content ideas.
- Research consumer trends, competitor activity, creators, and platform updates to inspire new creative approaches.
- Help develop creative briefs, content plans, and campaign concepts alongside our Client Services and Paid Media teams.
- Continuously experiment with new formats, storytelling techniques, and emerging creative technologies.
Performance Creative
- Work closely with Paid Media Specialists to develop creative that supports campaign objectives and business goals.
- Understand how creative performance influences campaign success and apply performance insights to future concepts.
- Iterate quickly based on testing, feedback, audience behaviour, and campaign results.
Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Client Services, Paid Media, and fellow creatives throughout each project.
- Participate in creative reviews and incorporate feedback thoughtfully and efficiently.
- Manage multiple client projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and organization.
AI & Emerging Technology
At Advoc, we actively use AI throughout our creative workflow—from research and ideation to copywriting, design exploration, image generation, and production.
We're looking for someone who is excited to explore tools such as ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, and other emerging technologies to improve both efficiency and creative quality. You don't need to know every tool today—but curiosity and a willingness to continuously learn are essential.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of professional experience creating digital content for brands or agencies.
- A strong online portfolio showcasing social-first creative across static design, video, photography, and motion.
- Excellent understanding of design fundamentals, including composition, typography, colour, layout, and visual hierarchy.
- Strong visual storytelling skills with an eye for modern, premium creative.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
- Experience using Canva and other modern creative tools.
- Deep understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and evolving social media platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Agency experience.
- Photography and videography experience.
- Experience creating creative for Meta advertising or other performance marketing campaigns.
- Motion graphics and animation experience.
- Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, or similar platforms.
- Basic understanding of social media analytics and creative performance metrics.
Who You Are
You're someone who:
- Has exceptional creative taste and strong attention to detail.
- Loves creating content and naturally notices what captures attention online.
- Is curious, proactive, and continuously looking to improve your craft.
- Enjoys experimenting with new creative ideas, technologies, and workflows.
- Thrives in a collaborative environment and values constructive feedback.
- Understands that great creative isn't just beautiful—it performs.
This Role May Not Be For You If…
- You prefer highly structured environments with narrowly defined responsibilities.
- You're only interested in one discipline (e.g., design only or video only).
- You're uncomfortable receiving feedback and iterating on your work.
- You're not interested in learning AI-assisted creative workflows or experimenting with emerging technology.
- You're looking for a traditional production role with limited ownership or collaboration.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you'll be:
- Producing high-quality creative that consistently meets Advoc's standards with minimal revisions.
- Creating social-first content that captures attention and supports measurable business results.
- Bringing fresh ideas and thoughtful perspectives to creative brainstorms.
- Confidently using AI tools to improve research, ideation, and creative production.
- Collaborating effectively across Creative, Paid Media, Client Services, and Strategy.
- Continuously refining your work based on creative feedback and campaign performance.
Why Join Advoc Digital?
- Work directly alongside our founders and senior leadership team.
- Gain exposure to strategy, paid media, client services, and creative production.
- Create work for premium food, beverage, and lifestyle brands across North America.
- Build modern creative skills at the intersection of storytelling, performance marketing, and AI.
- Join a collaborative team where your ideas are valued and your work has a direct impact.
- Grow your career as Advoc continues to expand.
