Role Description The Motion Capture Performer will contribute to full-body and facial performance sessions, translating direction into precise, repeatable movements for animation, games, XR, and other digital formats. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Gabrovo, working closely with directors, animators, and motion capture technicians. Day-to-day tasks include performing choreographed and improvised actions, following movement directions, maintaining character continuity, and adapting performances to various technical and creative needs. The performer will wear motion capture suits and markers, participate in rehearsals, collaborate in performance blocking, and assist in testing calibration and capture setups. The role also involves maintaining physical readiness, incorporating feedback from the creative team, and supporting a safe, inclusive, and respectful studio environment.
Qualifications
- Strong physical performance skills such as acting, dance, physical theater, stunts, or movement-based performance, with the ability to embody different characters, styles, and emotional states.
- Ability to follow creative direction and technical instructions accurately, including spatial awareness on set, timing, and consistency across multiple takes.
- Comfort working with motion capture suits, markers, head-mounted cameras, and other studio equipment, with a willingness to learn basic technical procedures and on-set protocols.
- Good physical fitness, stamina, and body control, with the capacity to perform repetitive movements safely and sustain performance quality over multiple sessions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including openness to feedback, respect for diverse teammates, and a cooperative approach to problem solving in a studio environment.
- Interest in animation, games, XR, or digital performance and curiosity about motion capture technology and pipelines.
- Prior experience in motion capture, film, theater, dance, or performance for digital media is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Ability to work on-site in Gabrovo on a full-time schedule; working proficiency in English and/or Bulgarian is beneficial.
