Position Overview
We are looking for a Master Screen Printer who owns the craft from start to finish. This is not an entry-level role—you should be able to walk in, take control of production, dial in presses, troubleshoot issues on the fly, and consistently produce top-tier prints at scale.
You will be responsible for leading screen printing operations, maintaining quality standards, increasing efficiency, and ensuring every job meets Joker Ink’s reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and tear down manual and/or automatic presses with precision
- Burn screens, coat screens, reclaim screens, and manage screen inventory
- Mix inks accurately (including PMS matching) and adjust for fabric, weather, and job specs
- Execute high-quality prints across a wide range of garments and materials
- Identify and fix print issues in real time (registration, curing, adhesion, etc.)
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to minimize downtime
- Manage workflow and prioritize jobs to hit production deadlines
- Train and oversee junior press operators or assistants
- Enforce quality control standards across all jobs
- Work closely with leadership to improve processes, efficiency, and output capacity
What We’re Looking For
- 3–7+ years of professional screen printing experience
- Strong knowledge of manual and/or automatic presses
- Deep understanding of inks (plastisol, water-based, specialty inks)
- Ability to hold tight registration on multi-color jobs
- Experience printing on a variety of garments and materials
- High attention to detail and pride in your work
- Problem-solver mindset—you don’t wait for answers, you find them
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Leadership mentality—whether or not you’ve had the title
Bonus Points
- Experience with high-volume production environments
- Knowledge of workflow optimization and shop efficiency improvements
- Familiarity with artwork prep or separations
- Experience training or managing a team
- Background in embroidery or DTF is a plus
