Marketing Director Jobs in Naucalpan de Juárez, México, Mexico at Maxima Apparel

Director of Performance Marketing

Role Overview

Maxima parent company of Pro Standard is hiring a Director of Performance Marketing to lead all paid media spend across Meta and Google for our US DTC business and growing international footprint.

This role will be based in Mexico and will work closely with our leadership, creative, ecommerce, CRM, and international teams. You will set the paid media strategy, own our performance gates, lead a paid execution team based in India, and partner directly with the creative team on paid asset production.

This is a strategic leadership role focused on building a paid program that compounds over time moving quickly to scale what is working, refining or retiring what is not, and designing tests that improve our learning velocity week over week.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in Mexico City / Naucalpan, Mexico, 5 days per week.

What You’ll Own:

  • All paid media spend across Meta and Google, including strategy, campaign structure, daily execution, optimization, and reporting.
  • Performance gates — knowing when to enforce them, when to test exceptions, and how to clearly communicate the rules to the team and leadership.
  • Budget allocation across channels, audiences, campaigns, and geographies, including weekly reallocation decisions when performance signals change.
  • The creative direction loop for paid media — briefing the creative team, identifying what should scale, retiring what is not working, and feeding learnings back into future briefs.
  • Audience strategy across the full funnel, including prospecting, retargeting, lookalikes, contextual audiences, broad targeting, and any new audience constructs released by the platforms.
  • The testing roadmap defining what hypotheses we are testing each week, what we expect to learn, and how those learnings will influence future decisions.
  • Leadership of a multi-person paid media team based in India, including daily handoffs, asynchronous decision-making, performance follow-up, growth conversations, and clear scope for each direct report.
  • Cross-functional partnership with Site/Ecommerce, CRM, Brand, Creative, Affiliate, and Influencer teams to connect paid performance with landing page strategy, lifecycle marketing, creative angles, whitelisting, and amplification opportunities.
  • Brand-aligned creative integration ensuring that paid creative performs while protecting and strengthening the brand voice the team has built.
  • International paid strategy as the business expands into markets such as the UK, EU, AU, and other regions, identifying what translates globally and what requires local adaptation.
  • The relationship with platform partners, including Meta and Google representatives, as well as any external agency support engaged by the business.
  • Reporting cadence to leadership, including what is working, what is not, what changed, and what comes next.

Strategy + Testing Mindset

This role is about building a learning machine, not just running ads. We are looking for someone who:

  • Approaches paid media as a portfolio of bets — some safe, some experimental, and all measured against clear hypotheses.
  • Designs tests with explicit success criteria, exit conditions, and learning value, not just win/loss outcomes.
  • Moves quickly on insight when something works, it scales fast. When something does not, it gets refined or retired without delay.
  • Stays curious about winning campaigns too fatigue is real, and even strong campaigns lose effectiveness over time when no one is watching.
  • Builds a team culture where learning fast is more valuable than being right slowly.
  • Documents reasoning so the team learns from every test, not just the wins. We want a written record of how we think, not only what we launched.
  • Stays focused on LTV/CAC, payback periods, contribution margin, and incremental thinking — not just channel-level ROAS.
  • Is comfortable with ambiguity paid measurement is often messy, and certainty usually means there is room to test deeper.
  • You should be able to sketch out a 12-week test plan in a single meeting and then execute it without losing sight of the daily numbers. This role requires someone who can hold the long-term strategy and the daily performance detail at the same time.

Required Experience

  • 7–10 years of experience in paid media, with at least 4 years in DTC, ecommerce, retail, fashion, apparel, or a related consumer business.
  • Proven track record managing significant ad spend at scale. Specific budget levels will be discussed privately during the process.
  • Strong experience managing paid campaigns across Meta and Google, including campaign strategy, optimization, reporting, testing, and budget allocation.
  • Experience working with US-based or international markets.
  • Advanced English level required, with the ability to lead meetings, present results, communicate with international teams, and document strategy clearly.
  • Experience leading remote or offshore teams, ideally with daily asynchronous handoffs.
  • Licensed apparel, sports, fashion, streetwear, or lifestyle brand exposure preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to retire underperforming creative or campaigns based on data, not personal attachment.
  • Strong analytical orientation you read data, ask the next question, and act quickly.
  • Comfort with platform updates, attribution changes, privacy shifts, and ad-stack evolution.
  • Bias toward decisiveness, ownership, and speed.

Nice to Have

  • Multi-geo paid media experience, especially with the US, UK, EU, AU, or LATAM markets.
  • Sports, streetwear, licensed apparel, fashion, or lifestyle brand fluency.
  • Existing relationships with Meta and Google partner representatives.
  • Experience with newer ad formats and platform products such as Performance Max, Advantage+, broad targeting, catalog campaigns, and automated bidding strategies.
  • Comfort presenting paid strategy and performance results to executive leadership.
  • Experience working closely with creative teams to develop performance-driven assets.
  • Familiarity with Shopify, GA4, Looker Studio, Triple Whale, Northbeam, or similar ecommerce analytics and attribution tools.

Why This Role Matters

Paid media is one of the largest growth levers in the business. Doing it well — strategically, operationally, and creatively — directly impacts our ability to scale efficiently.

This role drives the engine: what we spend, where we spend it, what we test, and how fast we learn from it. Strong leadership in this position unlocks compounding growth across the business and strengthens the connection between media, creative, ecommerce, and brand performance.

Location & Work Model

  • This role is based in Mexico City / Naucalpan, Mexico.
  • The position is full-time and in-office, Monday through Friday.
  • The role requires close collaboration with teams in Mexico, the United States, India, and other international markets. Flexibility may be required for meetings across time zones.
