Job Purpose:
- The Accounting Manager is the senior finance representative for the subsidiary, responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities. The role ensures strong financial control, compliance with Group policies, IFRS, and local statutory requirements, while supporting business operations with timely, accurate, and insightful financial information.
- The position operates within a Group finance model, with transactional AP and AR processing supported by Corporate to maintain appropriate segregation of duties.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Act as the primary finance representative for the subsidiary.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and Group accounting policies.
- Manage and deliver month-end close activities in line with Group reporting timetables.
- Perform balance sheet reviews, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Accountable to reconcile intercompany balances ensuring timely resolution of differences.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data in SAP.
- Oversee AP and AR activities performed by Corporate teams to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Coordinate closely with Corporate finance to resolve issues related to invoicing, payments, collections, and cut-off.
- Monitor working capital, including receivables aging, payables, and cash flow..
- Maintain a strong financial control environment, ensuring adherence to internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with Group policies, procedures, and governance standards including local Tax regulations and support Statutory filings
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management
- Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles for the subsidiary.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast; provide clear explanations and actionable insights to management.
- Support business planning, investment cases, and commercial decision-making.
Systems, Process Improvement & Best Practices
- Drive continuous improvement in finance and business processes, controls, and systems usage.
- Promote the application of best practices in accounting, reporting, and internal controls.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and automation where applicable.
- Act as a key user for SAP within the subsidiary.
Business Partnering, Operational Support and Stakeholder Management
- Partner with operational and commercial teams to support business objectives.
- Provide financial analysis, guidance, and problem-solving support to the business.
- Translate financial information into clear, practical insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Build strong working relationships across the Group and within the subsidiary.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting
- Professional Accounting qualification (SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or eqiuvalent)
- +8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in a multinational or Group environment
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
- Good experience with SAP
- Good understanding of local tax regulations, including VAT, Zakat, and Withholding Tax
- Strong budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting skills
- Sound understanding of internal controls and financial governance
- Ability to manage month-end close and reporting within Group timetables
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail
- Sharp business and commercial acumen with the ability to support operational decision-making
Job Context:
- The role is the senior finance position within the subsidiary, operating in a lean environment with AP and AR activities supported by Corporate.
- It requires independent ownership of financial reporting, controls, and compliance within a Group governance framework, while partnering closely with the business to support day-to-day operations.
