The Role

As a Junior Producer, Content & Video at Gen F, Farrynheight’s social content studio, you will support the development and execution of social-first content across a range of clients and platforms. Reporting to the Associate Director of Content, this role contributes to everything from early concepting and trend research to on-the-ground content capture and final delivery.

You will play a key role in bringing ideas to life quickly and thoughtfully, helping the team produce content that is timely, culturally relevant, and aligned with each client’s brand voice.

Key Responsibilities

Content Capture & Video Editing

  • On-Site Capture: Support content capture at events, activations, and shoots with a focus on social-first formats
  • Filming: Shoot using iPhones and lightweight production equipment (gimbals, tripods, microphones) with a strong understanding of framing, lighting, and platform best practices
  • Editing: Edit lo-fi and hi-fi footage into engaging, platform-native content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and other channels
  • Storytelling: Apply a strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and narrative structure from hook through payoff

Production Support:

  • Pre-Production: Assist with shotlists, creative briefs, reference gathering, and planning materials
  • Sourcing: Support in identifying and sourcing photographers, videographers, and creative partners
  • Organization: Help manage production documents, assets, and workflows
  • On-Set Support: Assist during shoots, supporting execution and gaining exposure to art direction and production processes
  • Post-Production: Support post-production workflows, including organizing footage, assisting with selects, preparing assets for edit, and managing file structures and delivery outputs

Design & Content Systems:

  • Motion Graphics: Create motion graphics for social content, including titles, transitions, and overlays, while helping maintain consistency across recurring series and formats
  • Design Support: Create simple static graphics for social content (covers, thumbnails, overlays, stories) and assist in building presentations, moodboards, and concept decks
  • Systems & Organization: Help maintain asset libraries, production trackers, and content systems

Trend Research & Cultural Insights:

  • Ideation: Contribute ideas for social content, including lo-fi concepts, shotlists, and storyboards
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay current on social trends, platform updates, and emerging formats
  • Cultural Research: Pull references and identify cultural moments to inform content direction
  • Proactive Pitching: Regularly bring forward new ideas and opportunities for ongoing and campaign-based content
  • AI Integration: Explore and utilize AI tools to enhance creative output and streamline workflows

Collaboration & Creative Development

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with social media managers and creative leads to ensure content aligns with project objectives, platform best practices, and brand goals
  • Brainstorming & Ideation: Participate in creative sessions, contributing ideas, concepts, and storyboards for social campaigns and ongoing content
  • Feedback & Iteration: Apply feedback thoughtfully, ensuring revisions are accurate, complete, and fully resolved before sharing
  • Organization & Ownership: Maintain strong organization across tasks, timelines, and assets, proactively tracking progress and ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to a high standard
  • Proactive Communication: Review briefs carefully, flag questions or gaps early, and communicate clearly with context, updates, and next steps throughout the process
  • Continuous Learning: Stay curious about emerging tools, trends, and creative approaches, continuously building skills across content capture, editing, and production

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Film/Video Production, Visual Arts, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: 1–2 years of experience in design and video production, preferably in an agency or fast-paced creative environment (internships count!).
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro) and mobile editing apps (e.g., CapCut).
  • Visual Artistry: Strong understanding of visual composition, typography, color theory, and lighting for video.
  • Project Management: Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple production deadlines simultaneously.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills with a proactive, "can-do" attitude toward feedback and iteration.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $60,000 – $65,000 annually based in the New York Metropolitan area.
