Position: Islamic Art Curator Role in Saudi Arabia
Join the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) as a Curator of Islamic Art and Culture. This full-time, expatriate position requires a deep understanding of Islamic art and cultural initiatives.
Focusing on developing world-class exhibitions, you will bridge the gap between historical Islamic collections and contemporary art practices.
Your role will include researching, curating, and managing Islamic art collections while collaborating across Ithra. You’ll be responsible for creating engaging museum experiences and educational programs that connect audiences with Islamic culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop exhibition concepts and content for Islamic art projects
• Manage cross-functional collaboration for cultural programs
• Oversee the preservation and documentation of art collections
• Conduct audience research to enhance visitor engagement
• Lead the creation of educational workshops and symposia
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degrees preferred
• 10–15 years of museum curation experience in Islamic art
• Strong publication record in the discipline
• Proven ability to manage projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Proficiency in English;
Arabic highly desirable
