Position Details

Title: Interior Design & Project Associate

Type: Part-Time | 1099 Contract

Location: Local to Atlanta or Newnan, GA area required

Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week to start

Compensation: $20-$30/hour

Experience Level: Entry to Mid-Level

Reports To: Business Owner / Real Estate Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and hands-on Interior Design & Project Associate to support a business owner and real estate developer across a variety of residential, development, operational, and personal projects.

This role is ideal for someone currently pursuing an Interior Design degree or someone who already holds a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field and is looking to gain meaningful real-world experience in design execution, project coordination, sourcing, staging, and operational support.

The ideal candidate is both design-oriented and execution-focused — someone comfortable helping bring projects to life through finish selections, procurement, vendor coordination, installations, organization, and hands-on project support. This position works closely with both internal teams and external vendors, contractors, and professional design partners.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support residential and real estate development projects through design coordination and execution
  • Assist with interior finish and material selections including:

Paint colors

Flooring

Tile

Cabinetry

Lighting

Fixtures

Furniture

Decor and styling elements

  • Source products, furnishings, materials, and vendors while balancing timelines and budgets
  • Coordinate procurement, purchasing, order tracking, and delivery scheduling
  • Manage communication with vendors, contractors, installers, and professional design teams
  • Support project scheduling, installations, staging, and on-site coordination
  • Assist with project setup, organization, staging preparation, and light cleaning/resetting around installations and project work
  • Help maintain organization across multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
  • Work independently within established operating systems and processes while maintaining strong communication and accountability
  • Assist with both internal business projects and external development/design-related initiatives
  • Participate in site visits and travel between project locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or holds a degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related field
  • Strong interest in residential interiors, decorating, real estate development, and project execution
  • Portfolio examples demonstrating style, creativity, and versatility required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting timelines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience with sourcing, procurement, staging, decorating, or project coordination preferred
  • Familiarity with Canva, Pinterest, Adobe Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar design tools is a plus
  • Must have reliable transportation and willingness to travel between project locations throughout the greater Atlanta area
