About The Role

The University of Alaska Anchorage is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join its University Advancement team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the university’s mission by creating compelling visual content that promotes UAA’s programs, initiatives, and community engagement efforts. The Graphic Designer will be instrumental in developing a wide range of print and digital materials, including publications, advertisements, and visual campaigns that reflect the university’s brand identity and core values. Working closely with the University Marketing and Communications team and executive leadership, the successful candidate will ensure all visual content aligns with UAA’s branding standards and strategic goals. This position provides a chance to work in a collaborative environment, supporting the university’s dual mission of serving the community and advancing educational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of professional experience in graphic design or related production work, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience with Google Workspace programs such as Google Drive, Docs, and Slides.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of design projects and creative skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of branding principles and visual storytelling techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver high-quality publications and visual materials for University Advancement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement department and executive leadership to ensure visual content aligns with the UAA brand and strategic objectives.
  • Support the design needs of University Marketing and Communications within UMAC, including digital and print projects.
  • Create both large-scale campaigns and smaller design pieces that highlight UAA’s dual mission and community impact.
  • Maintain consistency in branding, style, and visual messaging across all materials.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
  • Stay updated on current design trends and incorporate innovative visual solutions.
  • Participate in team meetings, provide creative input, and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
